Wait! On second thought, John if you have not sent it on to me already, will you just bypass me and send it on to the next person? I think that would be Shawn. Will message you both as well.

Sorry to bow out at the last minute, but think of it as our chance to get that camera 8.1 home first!

When did this become a race? Don't miss out on your turn for a silly notion.

Camera 8.1 is now in Ralph Javins' hands. Handed it over to him on Sunday. He will be the one who sends it to Shawn.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I still have our camera. I haven't been able to get out with it yet. Hopefully this weekend.

I know you were all getting nervous as this is where it got lost last time.

If Jake (Black Dog) is reading this, please send me a message with an address for me to send it to and promise not to move until at least the middle of February.

Steve.

John, did you tell Ralph that this one is not a gift? :errm:

Who would want a busted Nikon anyway?

The Cannon is like a rocket booster with a cheetah on it's back.

Or something like that.

Now that 8.1 is in the home stretch, I am excited and worried at the same time. On one hand I want to see whats on it, and for it to tell me its travels. On the other I am dreading looking at my pictures as I shouldn't have rushed them or mixed cameras and alcohol.

This is my first time doing any traveling camera, and the histories of the past ones seem buried deep down in the archives under hundreds of posts. Is there anyone here that has done the cameras from the start? #1? Can anyone please do a quick outline of outcomes of previous cameras as well? I think 6+7 were lost no? besides that I know next to nothing of them. Do the cameras usually survive? What kind of travel scars do they end up with? How do they look like before and after? What models were they? Was film ever fogged due to all that air travel? Did any member ever decided to prank everyone and send a dummy roll in at the end? lol Were images posted to the public and are they still up?

thanks

IIRC, #6 was what is now #8.2. Cameras 7a and 7b were Fuji disposable cameras that got lost by both the UK postal service and the USPS.

The currently not broken Canon will be on its way to its next victim on Monday.

Steve.

This forum dictates that film vs digital isn't really an appropriate topic because there are other forums for that.
On the other hand, it's never too late for this to go to Hell in a handbasket by turning into a Canon vs Nikon flame war.

HHhahahaqhahahaha evil laughter....:D
