Never understood why photography attracts such restless people. Or maybe it is the cause of restlessness?

Seriously - it's not like we're not gonna be here this time next year tryin' to figure out where these cameras are.

Latest update: The Nikon is loaded and ready to go. We are waiting for Sile to get the Portra I mailed to her and she will load up the Canon, and hopefully we'll get the cameras shipped off simultaneously very, very soon.

after suffering neural meltdown trying to decifer the last few pages of this thread and getting hungry looking at chicken roasted on beer cans, or so it seems. I have failed to understand one thing:confused:. Where is the camera now?

One of the things you'll need for this project Anthony is patience.. the other is a degree in cryptology to decipher the thread..

Luckily for you I have both :D

The camera(s) are in mine and ShawnRahmens houses.. there is a Portra film winging it's way across the Atlantic as we speak (type) and as soon as that is here and the camera is loaded both Shawn and I will send the camera's off simultaneously and ceremoniously.. with or without chicken.

Now wasn't that clear as mud..

Oh and the beer can chicken.. tasted even better than it looked..

And also what Blackdog said!

I am so proud of you all....
Thanks to ShawnRahmen for looking after the film survey and purchasing.. and for the Nikon.. the camera's should be ready to set sail in the next week. There will be a change of list as one camera will now start with him (makes way more sense that way) and the other begins here with the exact same film.

I'm looking forward to the new list. I was #2 on the old list, right below Rick A. I want to be on the bottom of the list! Half the fun seems to be cursing everyone above you when the camera goes MIA for months at a time.

I don't have the patience to go through the 100s of pages in the old Traveling Camera threads. Is there any tradition of sending bonus items along with the camera to the next person on the list? Not necessarily photography related, could be something cheap and regional.

In the Camera v6.0, someone added cyanotypes for everyone "downstream" from him on the mailing list. I thought that was pretty cool. Before that, I had only seen them online. I'm about to take a stab at doing some carbon prints in the next month or so. If I can get some decent results, I may do this with 5x7 prints (the smallest good contact priint, IMHO).

The film has landed...

The Portra is loaded in the Sureshot.. the battery has been changed.. and my photo has been taken...

Looks like we're ready to go folks! It's only page twenty of the thread....

The list for travel IS changing however.. Shawn is starting one camera and I the other. So We're going to move things about a bit. I have already PM'd the person who I hope to be second to receive the SureShot so if I hear back soon it'll be in the mail tomorrow morning..

I knew it would all come out in the end

Ok everyone this is it... the complete and utter final list. There are 16 participants in each camera group. Hpulley unfortunately I couldn't include you this time, but hopefully there will be more rounds and you'll be top of our list.

There have been changes.. The cameras will start and end in the same place and logistics have moved addresses with it.

The rules are simple..
(a) You receive the camera
(b) You PM The person next to you on the list for their address
(c) You BCC the PM to either Shawn or myself (dependant on which camera you are using) to let us know what the progress is and post in the Camera thread to tell everyone else
(d) You take a photo within ONE WEEK.
(e) You mail it to the address given to you by the next name on the list.
(f) You relax... you did a great job :D

The Nikon is ready to go and I will bring it to the Post Office this morning. As there's no service over the weekend in Ireland, it won't begin it's journey until Monday morning.. whereupon Shawn will begin his camera journey at the same time..

Mooseontheloose confirmed her address by return PM so she's a shining example to you all... let the games commence...

Shoot whatever you want.. and two shots each.. 36 shots in the Portra - 16 people in each group = two shots each.

Apparently the post office close on a Saturday so my package is due to set sail Monday all the way to Japan.. Watch out Moose there's a camera on the loose
