I'd like to suggest a Post Office theme.
You know you could be on to something there......

I suggest two themes: Success and Completion.
Steve.
Can we make that the mission statement for the group instead??

I believe they will strike next Wednesday, but with our new Conservative gov't I expect back to work legislation asap.
Please do not say that.. even in jest!

Are there enough takers for an Australasian Camera? I'd happily buy a $1 P&S off eBay to start it all off.
Thanks for the offer, but I think we need to stick with just the two this time and make it a success.. We've not managed to get two back yet so baby steps!

How about including a link to it so it can be found easily.
Rick I know you were asking about bringing another camera into the equation too but we definitely need to stick to two for this round.. hopefully WHEN we get these ones home successfully we may just tempt fate and send 30 something camera's simultaneously around the world... :D

Whatever the theme, let's all put some real thought and care into the one shot we are all taking. Let's make this the most badassssss collection of shots we can muster up. After two years on the road, we should strive for 36 keepers!

I am certain that EVERY shot on Cameras 7 was a masterpiece.

I have just finished sacrificing a chicken upon a craftily constructed bier - the sacrifice part came when the grill collapsed and the chicken was quite well roasted directly in the pyre before being wrestled to the ground by a nearly singed me. I believe this is a propitious start to our adventure. The macaroni salad was simply icing on the ceremony.

Sorry. No time for poultry rituals until Saturday.
I've got hickory and cherry wood smoke that I will infuse into the bird. The postal demons should be satisfied temporarily.
I know I will be!

How about those Chinese? They really know how to market a bad idea.

Well ok then.. Saturday will do. But please stay away from the Baileys - on chicken. I mean really China, really?? (I have to steal that link for Facebook.. the very thoughts of it make me shudder!)

Now THAT'S dedication everyone... please take note!

I know mine was.

Steve.

We all know mine was the best Steve..

We all KNOW yours was the best (knowing what the composition was), but will I ever get back to Aachen to take that same photo of the cafe with the cathedral in the background at sunset?

Probably.

I do hate to brag... but it really was the best wasn't it? Who else could get that light.. that composition.. that softness... that perfection..

Well apart from a shot of Aachen Cathedral at sunset that is...

Hope you'all are thinking of what you're shootin'...

The poll for the film seemed like a good idea at the time. Leave it to this group to end up in a tie! As I wrote in the other thread, the tiebreaker goes like this:

Sile voted for Portra.

Poultry sacrifice... check.
OK... so the chicken didn't happen this weekend. To throw a curve ball, a 24 pound turkey did happen. I think we're current on pagan sacrifice now. 24.27 pounds should be enough to cover several people's dancing and bloodlust. Bring on the international shipping!

I am so proud of you all....

No poultry will be safe for the next 6-12 months (yes I'm being optimistic!)..

Thanks to ShawnRahmen for looking after the film survey and purchasing.. and for the Nikon.. the camera's should be ready to set sail in the next week. There will be a change of list as one camera will now start with him (makes way more sense that way) and the other begins here with the exact same film.

Looking forward to this now.. and to the Beer Can Chicken I have planned for the BBQ tonight....

This is good comedy. 5 pages of posts and almost 3,000 views of this thread and the cameras haven't even left yet.
With these results, you would think we were all government employees!
I suggest we schedule a meeting to discuss scheduling our next meeting.

Just a little longer...

Never understood why photography attracts such restless people. Or maybe it is the cause of restlessness?

Seriously - it's not like we're not gonna be here this time next year tryin' to figure out where these cameras are.

Latest update: The Nikon is loaded and ready to go. We are waiting for Sile to get the Portra I mailed to her and she will load up the Canon, and hopefully we'll get the cameras shipped off simultaneously very, very soon.
