Tim,

I'm sending you a PM, but this cam is not one of the lost Let's All Shoot 1 Camera. It is a Bell and Howell. I think it's one of those chaotic cams. I'll get the film developed before it goes missing for a year again and make sure it gets on it's merry way.

Martin

What's a chaotic cam?

Hard to imagine, it's a extemporaneous project with less structure than ours. Sort of pass it on when you find someone who will take it.

Nice, although "less structured" is a bit of a mind blower to someone who has survived Camera's 5,6, a bit of 7 and theoretically 8 .

Hey John,

Want me to fire it your way once it is done circulating the Calgary area

To make it totally chaotic, I was going to pick on a random "victim" from the Apug directory, or maybe just go to the Calgary airport and find someone heading to an unknown destination!

"Sir,

Have you been given anything to carry by anyone you don't know?"

Yikes!

I have been on too many airplanes, in too many airports. Clouds my judgement.

8.2

Camera 8.2 (the Canon) has arrived in the Netherlands, alive and kicking.

With the shortest day tomorrow and no Daylight Saving Time in winter, I can't really tell when I'll be able to take my two pictures (besides, I still have to decide on a subject), but I promise I will send the camera onwards (to Steve Smith) next year! :whistling:

This is the bit I'm worried about. It got lost last time on its way to me. I can't help but feel partly responsible as I moved house and forgot to tell anyone. Then after it did find its way to me, it got lost forever on its way to Mr Black Dog. Guess where it has to go after me this time!....

Would you feel the odds were better if I were to send it to Mr Jake Black Dog first, before having him transfer it to you?

Actually, it's time to put your worries behind you. That was camera <insert number of lost camera here>, this is camera 8.2. It knows its way. This one will survive traveling to and from the Isle of Wight.

I think we should leave it as planned. But I'm going to used a signed for postal method this time.

Wow. How about we throw another camera into the mix - say, Camera 9 - to REALLY confuse people?

Bloody Bahstahd. Can't leave well enough alone can ya?

OK, Ideas?

Micro rounds with Zeiss 2 1/4 point and shoot folders? I have one to donate with a couple rolls of Ektar 100.

ROTFLMAO

Duuuuuuude!!! We have a hard enough time sending around point and click cameras! Now you want us to focus? And on a folder?

Come to think of it, it would be kind of fun to shoot the larger negative. We're gonna need some big fat humongous chickens for that!

I'll have to find the pic of the 56lb turkey we cooked a couple of years ago, it was bigger than my daughter. We raised the hybred white broadbreasted/south american giant just for the season. We fed 30 people with loads of leftovers, split the bird in two and cooked it in shifts.

Just need to take one pic in the morning, then I can hand 8.1 over to lmn. Going to be something on-topic for this thread. Namely, live poultry, since we have a chicken coop in our backyard.

Folders are great. Focus can be done by rangefinder, if coupled, but most times just scale focus. Guess the distance to subject, then set distance accordingly. Guessing focus can be very forgiving, but can also be determined via SWAG method: Scientific Wild Assed Guess (my personal favorite).

Steve,
Rest easy. I was in the same boat. I never received the North American v7 camera. Camera 8 has come and gone successfully... oh damn, maybe the curse of 7 put that car in front of Pcyco!

Sweet. It seems the battery door and dead battery issues have been resolved?

Just one more perp, and this baby is almost home!

Yep. Didn't use the flash, and the door's taped. I did discover that it's a good idea to hold the door closed, since the tape does allow a little slop in how the door's held closed.

Just waiting for a response from Lisa. PM'ed her a couple times over the past few days, and sent her a text this morning. Hopefully she responds.
