I've always been suprised at how many people don't know that gelatin comes from cow bones. Jello, film, yogurt, etc.

Did you know that there are cow bones in your film?

That must be why some photographs moo-ve me so much...

Gelatin in yogurt? Not in proper yogurt, just in some imitation junk, surely?

The bones are in the paper, too.

cow bones among other parts...

Do you know that 80% of the dust on your film is human skin cells?

10% of the weight of your pillow is made of up dust mites and their droppings.

Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, your gas tank is full of dead dinosaurs.

It's not Kosher, right? So some people might have a problem with it. Then again, it's not food so it might not matter. I'm not an expert on this, but the thought occured when I read your question. Does anyone know?

Randy,

There are so many things in this world that have things we don't know, at this point in time, I just don't think it matters much, no positive, not negative, just neutral..

Thats all.

Pigskin is in some film and paper emulsions as well.

Depends on manufacturere.

Now that is really not Kosher.

I wonder if it is in the film sold in the Middle East. Does anyone remember the proximate cause of the Sepoy Mutiny?

some gelatins are made from seaweed as well. Though the film is only done with hooves, bones and other cartilage parts of animals. It is the vegetarinas in particular vegans that escew gelatin film and try to find a non animal based product but want their film too that have the problem.

Yogurt is cultured with bacteria not gelatin.

Gelatin is used for texture in some yogurt.

"The stench of death rises from 16-ft high piles of cow bones chopped up into popcorn-size nuggets. Frank T Angelakis, known as the boneman or bonehead, perched on a catwalk, grabs a fistful, rubs the pieces between his fingers, and grimaces. "Not the best stuff," Angelakis said. "It is hard enough. Not porous. But it feels greasy."

that's the article which prompted me to ask the question.

No gelatin in my yogurt, thank you.

in that case, I would have gone for pure shock value and named it "Cow Skeleton in my film?!'

for some reason 'skeleton' seems creepier than 'bones' to me...

I for one am glad that not only cows are a part of my dinner but also a part of my entertainment and study!

Praise be to cows.

I'd feel proud if my car only burned dead dinosaurs, but I guess that it's mostly different species (and plants) that have been dead for a while and now are in its tank.

Gelatin (as well as other weird stuff) is surely included in some yoghurt products, but not in pure (original) real yoghurt, which should only contain milk and bacteria cultures.

I never felt guilty for eating (or using products that are made of) animal products.

I feel that unnecessary harm to animals is unethical (like experimenting on them for products that are not essential to humanity, like cosmetics), on the other hand.

Cow bones get everyplace including lettuce. You know bonemeal. Then of course you got bloodmeal. You can guess what part of the cow made that.

Stick to soylent green it's cow free.
