Toronto-wise, I was in Eight Elm Photo today and can't recall seeing any posters there. Apologies if there were. They're a smallish shop and the only place I have ever seen Berrger, Luminos, Forte etc etc..

Vistek had several posters but their darkroom section (if you can call it that) has become quite small compared to what it used to be. Downtown Camera seems to have the largest selection for b/w printers. Henry's is not bad either.

My bad guys. Eight Elm was on my list for delivery. I just haven't had time to get the pamphlets down there yet. They should be there by the end of the week.

Eight Elm

Hi Guys, I dropped off a poster there more than a month ago. Went back a week later and it wasn't up. The older gentleman who works there said they rarely put things like this up because they have such a small display window and every one wants to use it. They took a bunch of flyers from me though and put them on the counter.

I dropped off a pile of flyers at Henry's Clearance Centre on Queen St. with my contact Paul who lives by the old/vintage Pentax, Canon, Nikon and Minolta shelves. He was more than happy to distribute them.

8 Elm

I got the latest flyers into Eight Elm this afternoon. Headshots will have to wait until Monday or Tuesday, they are closed on the weekends. Who'd of thought!

OK, I hit Henry's (downtown & clearance), Downtown Camera, Woolfit's and Film Plus today with the new flyers.

Oh yeah, I also taunted Callow about the Red Wings!

Cleveland's (FOP) Friends of Photography group toured a wonderful American photo exhibit at Oberlin College's Allen Memorial Art Museum http://www.oberlin.edu/allenart/ yesterday. The Museum's Film Director and a Photography Instructor from University of Akron got into a one sided discussion of the advantages of film. I asked if they knew of APUG and the Conference. They said yes and were interested. I mentioned that Michael Smith who had a picture from his Toledo series in the exhibit was giving an AZO workshop that I had signed up to take. I asked if they would like some of the folded anouncements. I had a one inch stack in the car. Yes! I brought them in. Everyone took one and the Director said she would hand out the rest where she felt they would do some good. I'm out. See you next week.

Kino,
Thats my fault -- I simply ran out. This last batch is a new printing designed strickly for the Toronto area. We figure this late in the day our biggest bang for the buck is going to be in the greater toronto area.

Me too

And I can't make it to the conference

(am I getting anywhere with the sympathy vote?)

If you have any left over afterwards, Id like to see them, because there certainly aren't any originals out here on the Wet Coast.

Matt

P.S. thanks, and great work everybody!

I couldn't get any posters or fliers either, so I was wondering if anyone in downtown Toronto had an extra one? Is there any chance you could get it to Russ at Kominek Camera and Optical at 22 College Street, Suite 102E (in the basement) if you have an extra. I promised him one as he does a lot of trade with the large format students at Ryerson. He is just west of Yonge St. past Frans on the north side.
Thanks.

Art, the shop used to be a few doors north of the old theater (now a jewellry store) at the northeast corner of Yonge and Gerrard. It was actually upstairs on the 2nd floor. I have known Russ for quite a few years now and I mentioned the APUG Conference to him when I was in getting lensboards a few weeks ago. He wanted to know what the forum was about before he would put up any posters or flyers and when I told him it was dedicated to film his response was "Well that's my kind of photography - no problem helping out"
Kominek is a great place if you're looking for bits and pieces for any older cameras, or looking for reasonable repair work. I think he also has a number of contacts through the Toronto Historical Photography Society.
