Hi Bill and Others

The flyers are ready this weekend. I am picking them up tommorow and meeting John on Thurs in London.

We need to meet Sat if possible and start the distribution of the flyers.
Bill , I think we need a Ontario and surrounding Province and State map to line up where we actually have posters to follow up with flyers.

As well anyone in the Toronto and surrounding states / provinces who can help us get the conference Jpegs to their club /associations membership via email , would be wonderful. Most clubs have filters to stop advertising therefore direct links are needed and extremely helpful.

I'll try and make it up to Elevator on Saturday, later afternoon. I have a lunch date in the Beaches for one and if it goes well.....I guess the operative question is when do you shut down for the day?

Emailin' camera clubs

The email went out to the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs reps today. It's up to them to send it out to their members, most of them should do it.

Posters and flyers arrive in London

Hi Bob
I picked up flyers and posters today from your brothers shop. Right away I posted one poster and 20 flyers in the Stan C Read on Richmond St.Staff told me they will tell customers about the conference in Toronto. Tonight I took one poster and 15 flyers to the London Camera club meeting. I spoke to the membership about the conference it was only few left after the meeting was over. Next monday I will go to Fanshawe Collage and several other camera stores that deal with analog developing and film.

I will go to see him or Photography dep. at Fanshawe on Monday. Also contact camera club in St. Thomas and visit two more photo shops in town to place posters and flyers.

If there is any way to get flyers to Don Dunsmore in the art dept of Fanshawe it would be great.
He was the best teacher at Fanshawe and I owe my start to his confidence in me as a student.

Bob I will go on Monday and see if I can locate Brian and Don and distribute the posters and flyers.I need to get rid of a huge drafting table (4X7feet) so maybe Don can help?Will see.

OK This is not Toronto, but I left a poster at the following locations in NYC:

• The International Center for Photography
• L&I Photo Labs - tacked up
• Color Edge - store manager will review it tomorrow for placement
• Adorma - manager says he'll find a space for it somewhere
• B&H Photo - there's no space for it the store, but there's a small place near the telescopes where brochures and stuff can be placed - that's where it is
• Duggal - no place for posters, left by the light tables where all the other brochures are
• Color Magic - left with the store manager
• C-Labs - tacked up

Hi Bob
I placed poster at Fanshawe Collage today. Could not talk to Brian they have a reading week but receptionist will hand over the poster and flyers when he comes back. I also checked Stan C Read store and left another 15 flyers. Next place I left about 10 flyers at Color By Schubert on King St.
Next I will work on getting contact with St Thomas CC and there is another group of artist in Port Stanley some kind of Photo and art Guild.
I'll keep you posted.

Did the press releases go out? if so how many and where?
We will need to regroup on this aspect if these press releases are not getting out.

Henry's in Brampton gave me the poster back (didn't really have anywhere to hang it unless they took something else down) but they were VERY happy with the fliers. Photo Plus (a 35mm photo lab) in Bramalea City Center (mall) was also more than happy to take the fliers, but again, had no where to hang the poster.
I also dropped some of the fliers in the main classroom of the photo dept. in Humber College. With them out on strike, there was no one to ask, but the 2 students that were there seemed intersted.
I have discovered that Brampton has 4 libraries, not 2. If they can't put the posters up, I may ask for more fliers.

Update London

Hi Bob
I am working on St. Thomas CC ,did not have time to drive over there to give them some flyers. Today we had a guest speaker at our CC. His name is Don Martel he lives in Windsor and he's been full time photographer for 17 years .I have talked to him and he said he will talk to membership in Windsor CC an he was personally interested. He grabbed 10 flyers.

I have posters and/or 4 page fliers out at:
Summit Artspace a gallery with a current show in Akron, OH.
FAVA a gallery with a photo show with 60 entrants including me in Oberlin, OH.
Akron Camera club, a member promising to distribute fliers next meeting next week.
Cleveland Photographic Society, a member promising to distribute fliers next meeting.
University of Akron Photography Department. Unfortunately their winter term ends the week after conference. I am going to play hooky.
The Cleveland Art Museum's chapter of Friends of Photography meets next April 5th.
I will distribute fliers there.

I have yet to try the dealers.
Anybody got any more ideas of places to put these?

Left poster at Toronto Black and White Labs along with flyers with the owner. Struck up a conversation with him a few weeks ago and he was curious and excited at the thought of an analog film conference.

Actually he wanted the flyers. Anything to promote film photography. I was a little shocked myself. I'll ask my brother if the flyers are still there as he is a semi regular customer of Toronto Black and White.

Bob I haven't received any posters yet and I have pm'd you a few times about sending some posters to Kominek Cameras on College St. Russ was very interested in the conference as it was promoting what he felt was the "right" kind of photography.
