Color control for Ilford Art 300

I bought a box of the paper about 7 years ago and only used it once until now. I’m getting inconsistent color, and it looks to have a bit of a pink or magenta tint. I’m not sure what affects the color and or how it can be manipulated, sans toning.

sruddy Can I take it that the one full print you show and the others that we cannot see all show a pink and magenta tint ? I ask because all I can see is a ivory tint in the borders but this may be due to the off-white colour of Ilford Art 300

I cannot see any pink or magenta in the picture of the flowers in the vase

I thought the same when I took the iPhone photo. Maybe my eyes or viewing lighting. I’ll find the first print I made when paper was new and compare. I do see some brightness irregularities which maybe due to fog.

I guess it depends on the monitor, it looks pink to me as well. Might be fogged after 7 years, maybe your viewing light is warm, or your developer turned it warm? I know this didn't happen with yours, but it looks similar to the Foma papers I once used that were too close to the safelight. Quite liked it though, the prints looked nice.

At least it’s not only me. I just found a print that I made when I first purchased the paper and you can see that it’s fogged. Still will work for some stuff.

Yes I see the difference in the borders between the "old and new". I may be seeing the same colour as you and momus despite it not seeming pink to me. Yes I agree it looks like the start fogging but the borders, although now different still look OK

My last batch (bad) of Dektol turned all my prints that color.

Not Recommended...But I'm Trying It...
