Mark, The newer V45 lamp is very 'aqua' green when it is lit. If you have the older lamp you can put a yellow filter above the lamp and then use the smaller filters under the lens. I think the yellow was a #15 yellow filter but I am not sure about that number!

Also..if you want to find a replacement (the V54) I bought mine from Voltarc. I do not know if they still make them. There was an extremely knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant woman there named Louise Kessler. She was at louise.kessler@voltarc.com #1-800-826-9465 Perhaps they still male them...

With lamp behavior like that, split grade printing was nearly impossible to refine. However, a simple Ilford MG filter holder solved the problem, eliminating the need for two exposures.
That is a very nice filterholder. Is this DIY or are these availabe. Never seen it before.
