I'm in a crabby mood QUOTE]
Describes me and a whole bunch of other folks I know.
Apparently this isn't a discussion at all. I'm now wondering if there was a point to replying when obviously the only replies that will be addressed are the ones that are taken as offense.
Seems everyone else is picking partners - so I choose you. It's pointless to address someone when they chose to ignore you. Hope you don't mind.
but I can't take seeing one more waterfall, landscape, church interior, dog portrait, or nudes posted in the galleries.
Apparently this has been misunderstood. It seems to imply that all the photos are boring and/or very much the same. Both seem harsh to me. I'm not sure how to very different waterfalls can possibly look exactly the same since nature doesn't seem to craft them all in the same way. Some churches are big, some are small, some are dark, some have more light, some are filled with people, some are empty - I fail to see how they are all the same. My personal opinion is that some of the nudes in the gallery are uniquely different from what I am accustomed to seeing. I find some of them to be very fascinating. I'm not sure what else these people are supposed to do to set their work even further apart.
We are supposed to be a community of creative artists.
Since it was ignored before I thought I'd rehash - we're NOT all artists.
How come everyones images are starting to look the same. It's depressing.
Apparently everyone is supposed to step outside their redundant little boxes and make unrecognizeable photos for the sake of art and to the pleasure of the viewer. But again, I'm not an artist. I don't think I have a box to step outside of. I wish I knew where some people believed the redundant non-artist photographers belonged and whether they feel there is any value in being an ordinary photographer.
Alas - my questions may never be answered.
I should have gone and taken a nap. I think I not only stepped outside my box but kicked it out of range as well. It's not too late to take a nap now though ... is it? I really should quit while I'm still primarily being ignored.
