Am I judging someone? Did I say that I though landscapes sucked? No. Did I say that I thought church interiors are boring? No. Did I say that I thought that my pictures were so great? No. I just said, I'm tired of seeing the same old things shot in the same old way then posted for all of us to say "Great job," "Nice shot," or "I wish I had this one." Its like were signing highschool yearbooks, "Have a great summer," "Stay cool," or "See ya next year."

It seems that we like to stay in our comfort zones. Why not get out of them for once and see what happens?

Have you ever considered that a dog photo, or a toilet, or a church interior is outside some people's comfort zones?

No, you did not mention anyone inparticular you lumped a bunch of people together. I was pointing out that your photos seem to be in the same class, just as mine are. Anyte asked you a very simple question: what do you want to see? I will add, what comments do you want people to make?

Grace your images in your gallery are shot in the smae old tired way as well. As the starter of this thread how about telling us how you are stepping out of your box?

I for one am glad that we have the galleries, even though they can't possibly match what a real "printed" image looks like. I've been studying an image on the gallery "Moonlit Seascape" by Robert Jaques: (there was a url link here which no longer exists).

It's a very simple image, and I would love to be able to take something like that. Since I found this image, I have been on the lookout for locations where I can try to come up with something similar; not because I want to copy Robert's photo, but, I find his technique says something about the ocean environment that is different than the ordinary seashore photo.

No offense to anyone in particular, but I can't take seeing one more waterfall, landscape, church interior, dog portrait, or nudes posted in the galleries.

I shoot mainly landscapes. Over the last year (in an attempt to get myself shooting again) I've been doing a project on waterfalls.

I shoot to please myself. I have no plans to change this or to stop posting. Feel free to avert your eyes.
