For the past two weeks I have been in great doubt as to what would be a better purchase. The benefit of the 2.8 one is, well, the 2.8 aperture but the f/4 has the IS for which Canon claims up to three stops stabilization. The 2.8 does a better job at separating planes but it is not a necessity for me, the unshaken image is. It seems hard for me to give up that 2.8 (is that GAS talking?). I am currently on 5D mkI but will upgrade to 5D mkII in the next two or three months.

Any suggestions, experiences?
