This is a nice working Bowens Mono 15000 (400 watt second) Monolite. These were a very versatile and cool design. A "can" lid covers the flash tube and it takes an normal light bulb as the modeling light. The balanced arms that allow you to tilt the head (when placed on a light stand) also makes a great carry handle. It is slave-able (the slave socket is a 1/4" jack) Bogen made one for it, but you can also easily make your own optical slave, or wire a radio slave to a 1/4" plug from Radio Shack (is Radio Shack still in existence?).
You have two dials that let you dial down the power if the full 400 w/s is too much and the modeling light also has a dial dimmer.
On the outside of the monolight is an umbrella socket and you can also fit other head types on it, like soft boxes, reflectors, etc. A very versatile workhorse for a pittance: $50 plus actual shipping.
