I have just sent out a PM to all members so if you didn't get one please let me know ASAP. Do not send your print until Friday, June 6th to allow for address corrections just in case, heaven forbid, I screwed something up or someone moved since they sent their address and forgot to tell me. Your PM will also contain your own address; please check it and notify me at once if it is incorrect or out of date.

Please keep us informed and post here when you've sent or received your print.
Optionally, once the print makes it to the destination, you can upload the image of the print to the Gallery: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

The original BPX Introduction Thread is here: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I wish you all a lot of fun in this BPX with printing, sending & receiving

Hi,
Here is your address and the address of your recipient.
If your address needs correcting, PM me ASAP!
Please wait until June 6th before sending.

Your address:
(.....)

Your assignment:
(.....)

It’s not obligated, but it would be nice to include a note or a letter explaining what, when, where & how then image/print was made. And maybe telling a bit about who and where you are?
Please don’t forget to mention your name, so the recipient knows who the sender is.

Please try to print and mail the image before the deadline. Someone else is making an effort to send you a print as well.
If life interferes with your darkroom time, don’t worry. It happens. Health, family and work are important too. Just let us know you will be running late. If for some reason you can’t fulfill your obligation at all, just PM me as soon as possible.

Please post on the BPX20 thread when you actually dropped off the package at the post office and when you received a print from another member. Mounting and boarding the print is not obligated, but would be a nice bonus. Please pack the print carefully. If you ”just” stick it in an envelope, all corners will be bent on arrival. At least stick it between two layers of oversized cardboard for protection.

It would be nice if you could scan your print before sending it, and post the image (after the recipient confirmed receiving it) to the BPX20 thread (and the APUG Gallery). If you can’t scan the image, you could make a photo of it with a digital camera, to give us an impression of your gift.

Thank you,
Bert from Holland (TheToadMen)

Today I dropped a largeish letter in the postbox.

Which postie rolled up and shoved through my letterbox - Fortunately, no damage to the prints.

The title print - "Goethe as a Student" - The statue being in shadow contrasts well with the lighter background buildings. The choice of paper complements the scene quite well.

Print No.2 - "Damaged Car" - Looks a little more than just light damage  Wheels missing, bullet holes in the door, and no glass. I'm sure there is a story to be told about it...

Print No.3 - "Swamp" - A dark and foreboding wood. Looks flooded from a winter deluge.

Thanks for all three prints.

I just need to go outside and shoot some film for my offering. I may be gone some time :whistling:

Finished printing, toning, flattening, spotting, mounting packing and shipping my print. I scanned it but am undecided if I should post the scan since it has no shadow detail. I futzed around with the scanning process and the digital image, but whatever I do, the scan is not a good representation of the print. I guess that's why I hang out in the dark.

I received your print today. Very nice shot of the Voyage of Ulysses sculpture / fountain in Philadelphia. I love the contrast between the sculpture and the building. I agree the blind man's cane does add to the lines.

Thank you very much.

PS. I work for a steel company and the photo will end up in my office.

At long last, my print is away. May take a couple of weeks to arrive.

If I got your print it looks like it has been a matter of days only!

Today I found in the mail a delightful print depicting a staggering rock pillar supporting the vault of an abandoned slate quarry in northern England. Cathedral Quarry seems to be a very appropriate name for such a place. I love the texture of the rock, the high contrast between the dark rock and the brighter reflections and the light diffracted by the mist.

Thanks for this very fine print!

Last night I came home and found an envelope from the UK in my mailbox, making me smile.

Upon opening the parcel, my smile turned to a slowly mouthed 'wow', as I viewed the finely crafted print I have been sent by John Edwards [aka UKJohn].

Entitled: 'Erratic, Yorkshire Dales National Park', the image shows an enigmatic erratic poised against the horizon out on the karst. The soft sky frames the distant hills while the sharply detailed subject and foreground celebrate the textural richness of this hardscrabble limestone landscape. The subtle split sepia/selenium toning -so hard to do well- provides a richness to the scene completing the balanced arc from fieldwork to final print in hand.

My hat is off to you lad on this marvelous work, which I am proud to have in my possession.

I have my negatives shot but am trying to find time to set up a temporary darkroom (I'm in the process of moving / selling my home). If all goes as planned I'll have my print sent out in the next week and a half.
