Hi,

I just bought a Rollei 6008 Integral 2 and really like it. My eyesight isn't wasn't it used to be though, so I'm wondering if a Beattie Intenscreen would help with focussing. The focus is okay, I just wonder if it would be better with an Intenscreen.

Has anyone tried one with the 6000 series? I was looking at the grid one with the diagonal split.

Thanks,

mark

Just FYI for historical service. I also e-mailed BIll Maxwell. Here is his response (since he said to feel free to share):

More than half of my business is international (I ship all over the world). Read below for descriptions of screens, current prices, payment and shipping options. My HI-LUX focus screens would look beautiful in your Rollei 6008i. I provide my line of HI-LUX focus screens for an incredible variety of both modern and classic cameras of all different formats (35mm, Medium Format, Large Format, DSLRs, Medium Format Digital & Large Format Digital). See below for screen descriptions, payment options and shipping options. Please feel free to forward this information to your friends. You may contact me at 1+770-939-6644 (EST, USA) with questions or to order:

I make six HI-LUX screens for the Rollei 6000 series cameras (such as your 6008i). These screens are user interchangeable and do not require any tools or adjustment (presuming that the camera is currently focusing correctly with the original factory screen). These screens are:

(1) HI-LUX Brilliant Matte - the entire screen is a brilliant, contrasty, high clarity all matte field - $185.00 - available with (a) no lines, (b) vertical/horizontal crop lines, or (c) grid lines, (d) digital crop lines

(2) HI-LUX Micro/Split RF (Type II) - a horizontal* split image rangefinder (4 mm diameter) surrounded by a microprism doughnut (7 mm diameter) which is surrounded by a bright matte field - $185.00 - available with (a) no lines, (b) vertical/horizontal crop lines, or (c) grid lines, (d) digital crop lines *(the split image rf may also be supplied vertical)

(3) HI-LUX Micro/Split RF (Type IIa) - a diagonal split image rangefinder (4 mm diameter) surrounded by a microprism doughnut (7 mm diameter) which is surrounded by a bright matte field - $185.00 - available with (a) no lines, (b) vertical/horizontal crop lines, or (c) grid lines, (d) digital crop lines

(4) HI-LUX Split RF (Type IIa) - a horizontal* split image rangefinder (5 mm diameter) surrounded by a bright matte field - $185.00 - available with (a) no lines, (b) vertical/horizontal crop lines, or (c) grid lines, (d) digital crop lines *(the split image rf may also be supplied vertical)

(5) HI-LUX Microprism (Type II) - a microprism doughnut (3.5 mm diameter) which is surrounded by a bright matte field - $185.00 - available with (a) no lines, (b) vertical/horizontal crop lines, or (c) grid lines, (d) digital crop lines

(6) HI-LUX Microprism (Type IIa) - a microprism doughnut (5 mm diameter) which is surrounded by a bright matte field - $185.00 - available with (a) no lines, (b) vertical/horizontal crop lines, or (c) grid lines, (d) digital crop lines

Payment can be made via a major credit card or international money order. If you want to use a card, we will need your name as it appears on your card, card number, card expiration date, the V code number (the last three numbers on the back of your card, located in the white area where you sign your name), card billing address, shipping address and phone number. You may email your card information by dividing it into two separate emails sent at different times (for example, divide your card number in half). Send one email to maxwellprecisionoptics@toast.net and the other on to maxwellprecisionoptics@yahoo.com for purposes of security. You may also pay with a US Postal Money Order, or an International Payment coupon in US dollars (available from your post office), or some form of international money order (such asWestern Union, MoneyGram, etc) which may be wired or mailed. If wiring or mailing a money order or an International Payment coupon or paying with an international money order, please make it out to Bill Maxwell. My mailing address is:

I found mine (Beattie) to be much brighter but much harder to focus. I have the original screen installed.

Really? I thought they were supposed to make things better. Could you describe how it's tougher?

Olwick,

I just got a Rollei 6008 Integral 2 in January and the stock focusing screen drives me nuts. It works but the center circle is anoying. I have a Maxwell screen in my Rollei TLR (HI-LUX Brilliant Matte ), it is a very nice bright screen that really snaps in focus. I did not no Bill Maxwell made these screens for the 6000 series. I will be ordering one soon. You will not be disappointed!
