Well what did you guys think.
I missed week 3 but saw the others... I liked the final one the best but overall I have to admit I don't get it.

Saw some interesting photos but overall not impressed.

Agree,
I was enthusiastic at the start, but it went down the drain from then on. The last episode was not too bad, but me left me hungry for more. The most glaring contradiction of the show is that they took the time explaining the art market and how it put value to an original print made by the photographer and then goes on explaining the modus operandi of a photographer that don't take the picture, who digitized and modified the negative it by a team of people and ask a few grand for the end result. What's going on here?

I was waiting to see so much more than seeing a guy taking pictures of garbage bags in Suburbia.

As someone already mentioned... it is listed on MiniNova as a Bit Torrent, so is available through internet. And yes, there are 6 episodes. I don't have a DVD burner on my Mac, otherwise I'd offer it to anyone who wanted it.

This has been a great series for someone like me, who is new to traditional photography.
I'm much more of a traditionalist compared to my other photographer friends who basically all shoot digital.
A semi-professional photographer friend of mine asked how I adjust the white balance on my 1973 Pentax film SLR! ha ha. I almost fell over laughing! "Ahh... a filter?!"
I'm really enjoying this series as a historical overview of the progression of photography as an artistic and domumentary medium.
I seriously had quite a grin when I saw that photography teacher convert that room into a camera obscura. Blew my mind!
I too would love a copy of the dvd series when you guys are all finished sorting it, and would be more than happy to pay for your time/postage/disc etc.

I missed the early episodes and would love a copy of the whole series. I'm in Melbourne too, so it shouldn't be too hard to arrange something. I don't mind doing my share of the burning if there are multiple requests for copies.

Well I haven't seen any of the episodes, we only have normal television.

I would love to see it and I don't mind paying for the costs of copying.

I'm in Melbourne as well.

Mick.

I only got to see 2 or 3 episodes.... all of which were very informative and educational for a newbie such as myself.
I'm more than happy to pay for cost of copying and postage etc for them... Via Paypal?

This series is now being screened on regular free to air ABC1, as it's now known.
Sundays at 3pm.
Kicking myself because I only found out by randomly turning on the TV last Sunday & catching the final 5 minutes. I think that was ep 1.

Well, I've "taped" all 6 episodes now. In their lovely native format (directly recorded from ABC2 digital), they're a bit over 2Gb per episode, so the whole thing will fit on 3 DVD-r's - Who would like a copy, and how should I distribute them? Ideas?

Marc!

Thanks, Marc. I'm happy to burn and distribute say about four or five sets. I'm travelling on business most of this week and next but can get into it after that. I'll send you a pm.
Thanks again.

Thanks, Marc! For those of us with dial-up (digital analog, maybe?), rapidshare downloads can take all night, if they succeed at all, so your help is much appreciated.

Oh, awesome. I will have to see if we get this channel. I heard about this show on a podcast I listen to (TWiP) and have been dying to see it.

Thanks for the heads up!
