Actually, a nice bottle of Penfold's Grange would be nice, but I can't afford the $500.00 price tag

Ohhh... A bit too high for me as well. I don't drink a lot of red wines, but when I do, it must be an Australian Shiraz - nothing else will do.

wyno = wino = slang term for someone who drinks wine to excess ....

:D

P.S. I hope you don't take offense.
... and working with geos will drive you to drink. Hence my comment earlier.

(Come to think of it, that's probably true - we'll take you to the pub at the drop of a hat ....)

Whoops. Hi Pete...and hi, Kevin. Kevin, I'm having an exhibition this month at 80 Gold Street Gallery, Collinwood if you have an opportunity. There's 23 LF and ULF images. Let me know if you can make it and I'll try to meet you there. (by the way, I didn't write the text copy on the web site).

Hey, David. I'll probably come to the exhibition today. See you there? If not, I will probably get bak there at some stage.

Thanks for the thoughts of success. So far five prints have sold but it also seems important to get the work out there and it has received a kind response so far. It is rather like giving a gift. I'll be there at some point this afternoon, Kevin, but I'm not sure at what time yet.

Great shots on the web page, David. I'd be there as well, but I'm overseas for the time being. That text is pretty shocking, but, fortunately, most people who read it will be just as illiterate, so it all works out... Is it appropriate to ask the prices, such as of the colour one? Congratulations on some beautiful work. It makes me homesick.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard. I just went to the exhibition, and it is excellent. So good, in fact, that I'm considering buying one of the works. The prices range from about $375 up to about $575 if I recall correctly. I hope you don't mind me mentioning the prices, David, but maybe Richard is interested too.

hi from sunny queensland

hi my name is steve i am a pom but have been living in brisbane/gold coast for 19 years am a lover of black and white, any subject. i use 35mm & medium format i'm a total amature but working on it.

Welcome Steve from Hawaii!! You will fit right in on this forum, it is a lot of fun. I'm a frequent traveler to Australia, and there are a lot of APUG members from Oz; mainly Melbourne (I know, that is a long way from Brisbane). BTW, what part of the UK are you from?

Another Newbie

Hi, I'm Paul, I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I'm a hobbyist shooting mainly B&W portraits in 35mm, 6x7 and 4x5. The 35 and 67 equipment is Pentax, the 4x5 stuff is mostly Graflex. I develop and print my B&W work.

regards,
Paul Ewins

Hi Paul,

Welcome from Hawaii!!! There is quite a big group on here from Melbourne, and it looks like it is getting bigger. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome, Paul from the other side of Melbourne. As Robert has mentioned, there are quite a few of us from Melbourne.
By the way, there is a separate forum to "Introduce Yourself To The APUG Community". If you say hello there, you will get a lot more welcomes.
Robert from Hawaii, did you know your sunset turned into a sports car?

Just temporary. This one is to celebrate the announcement of the 2009 Chevy Camaro (which probably will be built on a Holden frame) at the North American International Auto Show last week.

Oops I must have missed this thread yesterday.

Hello and welcome to Steve from the Gold Coast (lucky thing) and also to Paul from Melbourne. You Vics sure have the monopoly on Aussie Apuggers.

Hi Steve, welcome to APUG.

I'm a former Brissie liver, born there, lived there till I was 8, spent 12 years living in a few places up the Queensland coast, then 10 years back in Bris as an adult, then moved to Sydney in 95, been here ever since.

Still have a soft spot for many things about Brisbane and QLD in general...

Hi Paul, welcome to the Aussie brigade on APUG.

I keep trying to get to one of the Melb gatherings but so far, no luck. You have a bunch of great folks down there to catch up with. Enjoy...

*** Thread wakeup/ping ***

Been absent a little while. Busy with family / work / uni . . .

Wondering if any new Aussie APUGGERS have appeared?

If so, make yourself known ! ! !

I'd love to get out of Sydney for a meet-up somewhere in my next uni break, mid year. Maybe we should all invade Nicole's place  ??? Never been to WA.

and some of my current favourite musicians are Carla Bruni,

Nice to meet you all. Cheers, Nicole

Spooky; my wife, also a Nicole, bought home a Carla Bruni CD from a garage sale a couple of weeks back, and it's great! We often play it as "going to sleep" music for my two boys (4 & almost 6).

And I remember the chat room red-wine nights Nicole . . .
