Want to Buy [AUS] Durst 4x5 Multigraph/L1200 or L1840

Bump - Looking for modern 4x5 and 8x10 Dursts instead, any head considered.

There are properly more 4x5 dursts out there as well as 5x7 and 8x10's........ I thjink you will have a better chance of finding one
the other nice thing is that they all use the same lens mounting plates and tubs ect.

Thank you for the links and yes the design is always in flux. Funnily while looking for De Vere I came across a lot of dursts and omegas so figured it may be better for parts in the long run. Unfortunately I had passed on all of them but I have the opportunity to purchase an 1840 but its so big I would have to put it into storage until I figure out how to fit it..

Another last minute design change - just acquired a De Vere 5108 and Jobo ATL3 however it certainly was not cheap and does not have all the bits and pieces. Still after lenses and glass inserts for the carriers, if anybody can assist with providing these components that would be great.

Congrats! The 5108 is a great enlarger. I much prefer it to the ones you were considering. KHB in Canada can supply the glasses, etc. Also check the UK auction site, .co.uk since they often have DeVere parts. I've bought several lens boards and a negative carrier from it. Enlarging lenses can be found on this or the LFF forum or the auction site. Good luck.

I believe the seller still has a box of these goodies stashed away somewhere, just need to hassle him some more. Otherwise I have found a few Schneider lenses so far and thankfully It came with the one rarer recessed lens board just need to find a WA 80mm to suit! I was originally after the De Vere however it was slim pickings in Australia, the dursts seem more widely available (I still know of a cheap 1840 for sale).

The opticom Durst is a computer controlled enlarger I that was designed around the l1200 frame for auto control.

It is way more complex than my AC800.

The Advertiser News paper had a AC1201 version in their darkroom in the 1990’s here in Adelaide

You don’t want it .......unless you intend to do a lot of custom prints with it and are willing to spend a lot of time programming it

Hello friends,

This reply comes far too late to help with this particular enlarger purchase, but I wanted to get this on the record in case anyone searches for info on this Durst model and lands on this page. I have a Durst Optocom and can describe it more accurately. It consists of a much different chassis and column than the L1200: taller, far thicker, motorized, and lacking a tilt option. It has a lens turret. Only the head is the same as the L1200. It is auto focus and manual color adjustment. Think of it as.a transitional model between the all-manual enlargers and those with computerized heads like the Pictocrom. The controller can be configured to bypass the computer while retaining the motorized head movement. It is very heavy duty, making the L1200 seem a toy by comparison (though a very fine toy).It requires extra ceiling height. I have a manual in case anyone does acquire one of these beasts. Without the focus computer it is a simple, friendly enlarger, but obviously a large one.
