Attention Agfa: We want APX 25 and sheet film again

Nothing works better with Rodinol then Agfa films. Agfa 100 and Agfa 25 in all formats, 35mm to 4x5. Some of the all time greats!

Allegedly Agfa got rid of the equipment for cutting sheet film. Maybe that's part of the rumour with Agfa wanting to buy Ilford? Let the Ilford plant make sheet film.

People brought back Star Trek for a third season after it was cancelled by writing letters to NBC. The same can be done here if we want to.

The machines are gone and they simply _can´t_ make the emulsion anymore, some needed substances are forbidden by the EU today... that will worsen in 2006 when the EU enforce a new law they are working on, asking chemical producers to test every single chemical product re health and environmental hazards.

It´s expensive and many companies will just stop production.

You're right. This is exactly the situation.

Here are the options:

1) Fork over several million dollars and try and buy the formulas and set up production elsewhere.

2) Fork over several million dollars and get them to rebuild their production line with your money and make a run of film. Of course the question is which film, 35mm, 120 or sheets. All 3 on a different base with a slightly different formula. Fork over more money if you want all 3.

3) It's dead and burried, leave it there and go on.

Writing letters saying I'll buy it if you make it is an exercise in futility.

Even if you sent an order for 100,000 rolls they would say no.

At this point, I would spend $100,000 for 100,000 rolls of fresh APX 25 because I know that I could sell it for at least $3 or $4 a roll. That's after keeping 1000 rolls for myself.

Just convinces me to keep enough of the things I need on hand. Someone in Canada just banned and then unbanned Green printing ink.

Ironically, the last Star Trek episode aired about a month before man walked on the moon.
