Got one of these a few days ago and did a quick and dirty repair on the shutter in advance of getting some proper curtain material and replacing it properly. Overall it's in very good condition and the FP shutter is a hoot, allowing me to use all sorts of old lenses.
Magically, the Rada back and several film holders fitted it like a glove. I was sort of hoping for that.

The device itself, followed by the first pic taken on it in decades. Film is 120 rollfilm in a Rada back. Fuji Neopan 400. Lens is 18cm Eurynar @6.8 with a bit of internal blotching from (presumably) element separation.

Good Morning! 9 years after your post I have bought a Zweiverschluss in Lübeck. I have a a couple of questions which you might be kind enough to answer. You said that you can fit old lenses to it and I see one in your photo. I have a 9x12 with the Doppelanastigmatic Veraplan lens in an Ibsor shutter. I can't see any way to get the lens off the front standard in order to replace it with another. How does one do this? Thank you. Garry in Berlin

"Zweiverschluß" means "Two-Shutter". It incorporates as well a leaf- as a curtain-shutter. A rare concept.

Garry, not all these cameras had inter-changeable lenses, mine doesn't it has a fixed 135mm f3.5 Tessar. Ihagee used a bayonet mount similar to their later Exactas so you'd have the same style locking lever on the front standard if it took inter-changeable lenses.

Your lens will have a standard retaining ring (like all leaf shutter LF lenses). The OP's lens is aRodenstock Eurynar which is a Dialyte type lens with 4 air spaced elements so no chance of balsam separation It'll be low in contrast as it's uncoated but very sharp, I have one on a Rodenstock ((re-badged Welta) camera.

Doppelanastigmatic Veraplan lens was made by Meyer and according to the Vade Mecum it was the most expensive lens Ihagee offered (of their own) on the Duplex camera, there where two versions f4.5 and f6.8, it's a Dialyte. I think these lenses replaced the Goerz-Ihagee Anastigamat (also a Dialyte) after Geoerz merged with Zeiss. I'd have thought the 135mm f3.5 Tessar would be more expensive than the Veraplan.

The Vade Mecum says 1939 for the Doppelanastigmatic Veraplan lens on the Duplex camera, that should be from the 1939 BJP Almanac but the Ihagee adverts for that year are only about the Exacta system. It must be in a dealer's adverts, if I find it I'll scan it.

Thanks for your kind reply Ian. As far as I can find out the Veraplan Doppelanastigmatic was offered on the Duplex and Zweiverschlüss cameras right from the get-go. For instance see the1930 brochure. I have discovered that the lens-interchangeability option was only offered on the 10x15 model, presumably because that model was also available as a stereo camera. So I am now looking for one of those and will sell off the 9x12.
About my 9x12: (a) The shutter curtain needs replacing. I am thinking of painting over it with some sort of silicon black paint or rubberising paint. Is it difficult to get the shutter mechanism out? (b) It seems impossible to fit the Ihagee/Vera-Satz lens elements because there is no space between the Ibsor shutter setting ring and the knurled outer ring of the front lens element. It would seem that you can't fit the lens supplement retaining clip over the front element because the Ibsor control knob/ring denies it a place to grip. Any ideas about this?

Excellent, nice to see there are some still around.
Just to clear up something - mine has a screw lens mount, which the Eurynar cofortably fitted, with a wrap of ptfe tape to snug it up.
I haven't a clue what thread it actually is, but somewhere in the mists of the last decade and a half I came across mention that the screw mount did match at least one of the shutters of the day, so would make removal easy and the use of barrel lenses convenient.
I have a few old shutters kicking around, so might well see if any of them fit.

My example has a 15cm f/3.5 Trioplan from Meyer Görlitz. Here's a photo taken with it on 9x12 Foma 100. I have to give it a go again !

I didn't notice that you're missing a front shutter, as Zweiverschluß means « two shutters ». I never used the rear shutter at all, the cloth is not lightproof anymore and the cost to restore it is quite high.
