As one of the actual (proverbial) sheriffs here on Photrio, I'll merely say - move on from the politics everyone.
I clearly need a black hat, and a white hat, so that I can switch back and forth as needs direct.
Matt, you have your hands full with the social climate these days. Oh, can I mention "climate" or is that to political? As one of the actual (proverbial) sheriffs here on Photrio, I'll merely say - move on from the politics everyone.

Reminds me of "The Lawman" series of the late 50s and early 60s Apparently he was well intentioned as you can tell by the intro theme

My wife is thinking of selling her mom's old twelve-person sterling silverware set. You can;t believe what it's worth today. We stopped using it 30 years ago. Who wants to clean all that silverware every time you use it?
I'm going to be guarding my film fridge with my life! Of course I think I could shoot a roll a day for a year and still have plenty. I have a thousand feet of 70mm, that would keep me busy for year two.
I have enough sheet film for a while, but I could stock up on 120 film for sure. Kodak Tmax 100 and TMY2 are not a bad price at the moment. I might just have to dig out that sock with mad money in it out of my sock drawer.
I agree and I'm enjoying using it again. When Ilford was so much cheaper it was mainly what I used and liked it. For some odd reason Kodak 120 films are now more reasonably priced and I'll use those now.I'm good on 120, and TMX and TMY-2 is worthy of raiding the sock for! Love the stuff!
It always was, but I guess we can no longer pretend it's not the case, or we're not aware of it. Someone came along and lifted the rock we were living under.Seems everything is tied to everything today.
In the 50s my lawmen were the Western series not L.A. 20th century cops. The series called "The Lawman" was not one of the best I preferred James Arness as Matt Dillon or Hugh O'Brian as Wyatt Earp John Russell in The Lawman came way down the list for watchability"Just stating the facts ma'am" as Sgt. Friday would say. Dragnet!
I liked John Russel as an actor, but we have to remember that a show like the Lawman relies on directors, screen writers and the like. Those people can make or break a TV series whether you have a good actor or not. Gunsmoke is on everyday at 12:00 noon here. I can remember standing in front of our little Motorola tv at the beginning of the Gunsmoke show and out drawing Matt Dillion every time. Of course my gun was much lighter that his, but my reflexes were just as good.In the 50s my lawmen were the Western series not L.A. 20th century cops. I was real outdoorsy when I was younger and always wanted to move to the far north (way off the grid), build a cabin and live in solitude, but we all know how those young dreams go. Marriage, kids, work, etc.. Now I'm too old to do it so have to settle for a large rock. The rock I'm looking for is big and at my age I'll need help lifting it and someone will have to shove me under. It's like the song by Green Day, Troubled Times.I'm not Matt, but I'm sure he'll join me in wishing you the best of luck and may your shelter prove to be a durable one!
Honestly I think at this point most of us have the same tendency from time to time. I know I have.
China has no silver mines? You'd think a country of that size and that diverse of geography would have silver somewhere???? Sounds like "Chicken Little" might be at work also. The sky is falling, the sky is falling......................!There is some concern that the Comex may be drained of deliverable silver in March, causing industrial users to top up before then. Other reports suggest unusually high demand in China, not clear if industrial or retail, causing a big premium for silver there.
Now that sounds more likely, since we're being bombarded with "buy gold" on the TV channels right now. I think, and could be 100% wrong, that it's a combination of things. Like speculators/investors, Chicken Littles and the U.S.$.Some of the increase is certainly tied to the drift away from US$ as an investment currancy. That's what's driving the huge bump in gold prices.
I worry about Ilford’s future. I will continue to work with physical media for the rest of my days, but Ilford’s sheet films are no longer within my budget.
Sorry, Ilford.
