I, too, have booked a double for April, so look forward to meeting fellow traditionalists. John Stredwick (pyrometol, to you!)

Welcome Aynsley and John. I look forward to meeting you both.

No, cheesecake isn't relevant... Just don't stand between Dave and the dessert trolley! (Or me and the bar, come to think of it!)

Membership seniority, eh? Good idea. Maybe then Dave, Bob and Leon will respect their elders...! :D

I know I initially said I'd want a single, but I've just booked a double room as my wife has agreed to come along too this time. Hoep that hasnt trodden on anyone's toes?

I'm afraid I must bow out this time round - we are expecting a new arrival in the late spring and I'm not sure if anybody has midwifery skills! Unfortunately some things even have to take precedence to photography (although little Archer's first appearance in the world will be recorded on HP5+!).

Hope to make it in the autumn.

Rob

Commiserations on missing the meet, but congratulations on the prospective addition.
I’m sure you could come because we will have internet access, and we can Google “midwifery” should the need arise.:D

Congrats on the new arrival Rob! I've seen Dave deliver a large slice of cheesecake to his plate with considerable skill, but that's probably not what you had in mind so I think you are probably making a sensible decision...

Hang on though... if we could get Dr. Tim Rudman to come along, you'd be sorted...

Good luck, Bob.

APUG Spring 2007 Meet

Hi Leon,
Your wife will be extremley welcome, no question at all on treading on anybody's toes. I know the other three wives will welcome a bit more moral support, look foreward to meeting her.
Tony

Well done Barry; could be the Autumn venue? :surprised: http://www.dafna.co.uk/

Smithdown Road?! You'll have your tripod head up on three bricks before you know what's what!

Rob - Commiserations and congratulations on your withdrawal from the Gathering and your expected delivery, respectively. I'd come along anyway if I were you; it'll probably be late (leaves in the delivery room, or something like that...!)

Leon - I wait with bated breath to meet the most patient woman in the British Isles. Except Win.... and Jean...! :D

Rob - that's great news (not about you not coming of course) A very valid reason not to come ... congrats.

Congratulations Rob, let us know if the event occurs while we are on the meet, we will wet the baby's head (Rodinol?)

Great you can make it Leon.

Barry

Hey Dave, for one moment I thought you had put one of your private album pictures onto the gallery...

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

:D

Barry

Thanks Barry, I've just spent 5 minutes licking the screen; and feel so much better for it.

:surprised:

Oh, I didn't want to know that!

I really didn't want to know that!

I really, really...!

Hello everyone, I've just recently joined APUG and I might be able to come to this event and meet you all! Of course, I need to check the diary and the wife says she'd like to come as well (but using a Sony digicam  ).

Cheers,
David.

No worries, David, she won't be the only one I'm sure!

What can you mean? Surely you're not suggesting that any of us would use anything other than film? Is the group not as pure as it would first appear? What am I to make of all this?

It's that Geordie, McLean! A thoroughly bad influence, often encountered unexpectedly at Gatherings and found standing on ridgelines near stone circles wearing an Iron Maiden tour jacket and with a lens aimed unerringly at the best light!

He'll lull you into a false sense of security with a film body or two and then stick a digi-gizmo in your face when you're busy concentrating on your third pint (most disconsherting)!

:D

Several of the film-obsesseds' better-halves usually bring along a digicam or two, but they're generally most patient and put up with the rest of us so we indulge them...!

Any one mind if I join in...

Hi All,

I have only just found out about your group and would love to come and join the weekend if you don't mind.

It gets a bit frustrating being surrounded by digital cameras only.

My main camera club now only has 5 film users left - and four of those only shoot transparencies...

I typically shoot medium and 35mm format.

Let me know if you are OK with this...

Mark Burley

No worries, Mark. We'd love to have you along.
