Hi Guys,

Since I have been very quiet since the outing to the Lakes (I have finally thawed out), would I be welcome, I wonder?

I do have a real camera to bring this time - a MPP MkVII, oh and one of those lovely hand-made teak pinhole jobbies!

What do you think?

You're always welcome, John! I look forward to seeing you again (hopefully in rather more clement conditions!).

(You might want to book in a bit sharpish - I'm not sure how many B&B places the Green Dragon have left, although they do have some self-catering places too...)

Very much  !

Cheryl, if you think you might be over again in the Autumn then do watch this space as we'll be having another shindig then (red wine and dark chocolate on tap!).

I'll try to make it, but I won't know if I'm free until about 10 days before! I'll probably end up camping!

OK, just to ruin your day, I have booked a room too! (note to self, must send the deposit!)

It looks like I will have some "real" kit to bring this time - MPP MkVII and a nice new Benbo (thanks Santa!). Of course, I will probably be annoying enough to bring some oddballs too.....

Can hardly wait ;-)

Good news, John! Look forward to seeing you there. (They're taking deposits now? They didn't ask me for one...)

Look forward to seeing you too, Rob. If canvas doesn't suit we've been informed that there are quite a few other B&B's nearby.

Frank,

They don't do plastic at all (ensure you have cash or a cheque when you want to pay the bill), and the lady I spoke to asked for £10 deposit by post. I'm sending it off today.

Look forward to seeing you.

Me neither; cash? What's that?

Something you'll need in the Green Dragon! (Or a cheque of course, but they don't take plastic of any description.) There are two cashpoints in Hawes just down the road. If anyone wants to stay in a more upmarket venue (i.e a posh hotel rather than a pub) the Simonstone Hall and the Stone House are both nearby. There is also another B+B (the Vicarage) in Hardraw itself so even with all the yes's so far I dare say there'll be room for all.

Cheers

Hmm,

After reading the above, I thought I had better just check my booking. I booked a single room (they only have two). They did not ask me for a deposit.

Well I telephone three times today, but the eastern European lady I spoke to each time suggested I call back and talk to the Landlady. The person I spoke to said she could not find the bookings for next year. Maybe not a problem but a little worrying?

I will call again later.

Regards

Barry

Right, here's the situation. I've been to the Green Dragon for a pint this lunchtime and spoken to Yvonne the landlady, and confirmed there are several bookings for the weekend of 22/23 April, some of which are familiar names such as Taylor, Miller, Wilkinson etc. Regarding deposits, she suggests if you haven't already done so that you send a £10 deposit to guarantee your booking - your room may otherwise be given to someone else on the day if you're late arriving and they're fully booked.

If you do phone, ask for Yvonne as she handles the day-to-day stuff and knows what's going on.

Hope that reassures everyone!

Cheers

Thanks for putting our minds at rest Richard. I shall send a deposit.

Shame you had to drag yourself down there and drink beer to resolve this one!

I owe you a pint -))

Thanks for that, Richard. I'll give them a ring today and sort it out.

(Blimey, that could have been fun...!)

I have just found this site and it seems to have everthing I am interested in. I would be interested in meeting with like minded photographers. Could you please keep me informed.
