Looks nice. I'm a little confused about the tariff - they say they've got a (smallish) number of double rooms and a twin... ...but they also quote a price for a single. Hmmm....

Despite this (and the fact that the cheesecake seems to have been baked in some ill-advised colonnial manner) it does look quite appealing, especially considering the rest of the menu.

Nice find, Barry!

Thanks Frank,

I too was a little confused over the room options, perhaps Rob would look into it for us?

Barry
ps I was concerned over the description of the cheescake.

I do know the Orange Tree although I haven't been inside since it was a rather derelict pub called the 'Kings Head'(I think) I'll go down and check it out when I get a chance. As for photo locations, as Leon says, there's loads of them. I've lived round here for 20 years and keep discovering places I never knew exisisted. I'll post a few in the gallery later on.

Rob

'Tis normal to put a single person in a double room for a little over half of the price of putting two people in it...

Looks quite nice, but may be too small - has a function room though .

Now, more importantly, about this cheesecake... Ah, that reminds me. These slanderous accusations about my feet - my feet have won prizes you know... Well, admittedly that was 2nd prize at The 1998 Anti-personnel Weapons Exhibition And Fun Day Picnic organized by the Ministry of Defence but.... erm... oh...

Cheers, Bob.

It doesn't look like I will be able to meet up in October as I've just got a place on a course in work that I applied for and it's 10 weeks long, chance that it my be 11.
It all depends on when the actual start date is, if there is the extra week, and when I have to do the second part, and my wife and I are away in the middle of November.
However there is a glimmer of hope. I'll keep you posted.
Eric.

Get them to move the course; this is too important to miss.

Yeah, good thinking, Dave, like move it back to September 2027 to give me enough time to study, and make all the meets inbetween times too!!!!

That's the idea, you got to think positive here; or should that be negative?

Whichever it's a great shame if you can't make the meet.

Hi Rachel,

There are invariably quite a few women along at each of our gatherings, although it has to be said that the majority of these are usually found shaking their heads over their husband's/boyfriend's/partner's obsession...!

However, there have been some female addicts like yourself. MandyS and Andrea (Schlapp) both attended in Wiltshire last autumn - Mandy had the most beautiful collection of miniature cameras I've ever seen (and put them to very good use!) and Andrea got a couple of the best shots from the Gathering (IMO).

(But don't believe Ailsa if she says she's coming - McWhinnie speaks with forked tongue! )

You'd be more than welcome to join us. (Oh, and 'welcome to APUG' by the way!)

All the best,

Frank

thanks for your welcome

Thanks for your welcome, I think being French, a Cheesecake will not show the best of my cooking skills, tarte aux pommes is probably a better idea. Any way keep me updated about this meeting, have you decided about a date yet?

Rachel

It's true! Why do you think I haven't contributed to this thread yet? Nothing more than simple embarrassment...

Would be interested in joining in - could make last 2 weekends of either September or October.

Regards,

David

Been doing a bit of research. I still haven't found The Orange Tree open yet and they haven't replied to my enquiries either. Looks quite nice though - VERY orange! I've also checked out another pub just along the road. The Ship Inn at Brancaster.

www.shipinnbrancaster.co.uk

The accomodation prices aren't too bad, and the food and beer's good! Very few pubs on the Norfolk coast seem to have more then a couple of rooms so it looks like some of us may have to stay elsewhere and meet up somewhere.

I've posted a couple of norfolk images in the gallery. Unfortunately I can't scan 12x16 prints or 645 negs and I don't take many 35mm shots.

Hello.

I'm fairly new here and may be interested in joining in if the timing is right. Or possibly next time if this atumn is not convenient.

How about a visit to the Isle of Wight one day!

Steve Smith

September is out for me, I'll be in the US for at least 3 weeks but October is a possibility at present.

Here's another one who'd be interested in meeting up in Sept/Oct.

Have you checked out the Bunkhouse barn at Burnham Deepdale

http://www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/grouphostel/index.html

might be a little too basic, especially if you're worried about smelly feet...

Now, now young Fisher. You won't get your Photo Proficiency Badge if you go dropping your woggle everywhere!

PS: the Cley Deli does some great cheesecake, if anyone's interested...
