The latest from those developing the app (posted this weekend):

In terms of a first release, there is a surprisingly little amount left to do, I think there's a bit of styling on conversations and a couple of small changes to be made, the dev hasn't asked me for any changes or things to be added to the XenForo API currently, and the base XenForo addon is coded ready to go.

Monday / Tuesday we will have our usual meeting and discuss where we are with things, and I would hope to get an accurate eta on the first testing release from that, but as always, and i'm sure as you've seen we have been aiming for a quality release, even if that means some delays.

Ok, just heard the mobile app service is rolling out April 4th. Initially for testers and a then full release shortly after that. In the mean time I have some code updates on our current style that will fix many iOS bugs. That is scheduled for this weekend.

They are currently working with several large forums now testing the app in the wild. It shouldn't be much longer now as they are reportedly squashing bugs and nearing a first release.

Thanks to the great feedback we've had so far we have a list of things we are working through!

They have several big boards running the beta and it sounds like they are doing some bug fixes. I think it's close.

The last update was on the 21st, they posted some screenshots of their ordering system for the app stating they are nearly ready to take orders now. It's frustrating they have had delays but from what I've seen it will be well worth the wait. My best guess is next week. Also, could you let me know the most 'out of whack, frustrating' components of the current skin on mobile screens. If we can identify those issues I might be able to improve on that. It might only be a couple pieces of code throwing things off (and let me know your device/OS). Thanks!

They claim a July release, that testing is going good and they want to release the best product possible. As for issues you have, it's hard for me to test as I have no tablets. On my iphone 5s it functions quite well in google's chrome browser. What is broken or difficult for you, I might be able to tweak a few things while we wait for the proper app.

the search option doesn'tappear at all in my android browser when I am on apug. I use opera.

there are sites that developed their own Xen app already at least a year ago.and I'd be surprised if they wouldn't do a deal for apug.
I mentioned this to sean by pm months ago but he didn't seem interested

I search their resources almost daily and have not seen any mobile apps that don't come with countless issues. The only thing I've seen are a few skins that are more mobile friendly but discussions contain pages of problems people have with them. Feel free to point me to something here if I've missed it. I've tested a few browsers and in the header is an image of a magnifying glass, that should open a search box. Image attached:

At this point I don't think Tap-a-talk could have been that bad. It wasn't for me. It is a big deal to use a browser on a device. I can't sit on my PC most of the day.....nor want to.

Perhaps something broken is much better than nothing at all.......

Problem with tapatalk is they are gaining access to forum databases and harvesting data, among other sketchy activities. That's why I've been holding out for a native app for xenforo. I might see if they'll let me be a tester.
