Sounds fine to me. How long before the exhibition opening date would your framer want all the prints?

I would think we need to keep all frames the same type but let each person choose the colour, i.e. the 3 options provided by Fintan.

The foreign guys have all confirmed their intention to take part but I have not heard anything from Ian. There are a few others who have not posted in a while so maybe they could confirm that they are still getting involved. If someone wants to back out, its better we know now so we can allocate your number of prints to others. At present, I presume everyone on the list I posted on page 14 of this thread are still taking part?

FROM THE FOREIGN GUYS

I guess we will all need to mail raw prints to someone in Ireland, along with a Euro check, to cover framing -- right? Please let us know the contact name and address for that, if we can PayPal the money (probably works best for all of us, especially those outside the Euro Zone), and all the specs on size, format, etc.

It will be great fun exhibiting on an Irish theme! I, for one, can probably make a September 20 weekend opening as I'll heading back to Ethiopia from Washington that weekend and can do a stopover in Dublin. Sure will be a great chance to meet everyone!

Thanks for all your organizing on this, everyone, and we "foreign guys" look forward to joining you!

Hi all,

I haven't been around for a while so only catching up now.

I'm afraid that I am going to have to drop out of the exhibition, I have a lot going on at the moment and don't think it is going to let up in time for me to have something ready to frame and display. Maybe next time.

Best of luck to everyone taking part.

Hi I'm still in for the exhibition although I haven't been around for a while.

I know the show is on in September, but what is the final cut off date for prints? End of August or what?

Yes lets aim to have all prints with the Framer by the end of August to give him enough time to mount and frame roughly 40 prints.

Great to hear you guys are still taking part but sorry to hear David is dropping out. I think thats everyone confirmed now except Marcus who hasn't posted for a while. I hope you are still with us Marcus?

Hi, I'm only a new boy around here-
and its a bit quiet, to tell the truth-

After logging on religiously for weeks,
one day I just forgot,
when nothing seemed to change...

but if people are dropping out, I might like to try to get a print together, if that's ok...

Can you do 3 prints jb?

If so you could replace David then.

I think we may draw the line after that.

Thanks.

So how is everyone getting on with their printing?

Airfield has asked if we can start a few days earlier as they have a cultural/arts open day on Friday 19th September and they would like to have our prints hanging for that. We can hang the prints any day that week so its only a few days sooner than originally planned. The end of August was suggested for sending prints to Fintan for his framer to mount and frame so I think we should still be ok for that.

Also if you feel you can't commit to having your prints ready for this exhibition, can you please say so now to give others time to make extra prints and get them to the framer on time.

I can hang one to 30 black-and-white prints from Ireland and they're ready to mail. Just give me a number, an address, and Paypal info and I'm ready to join on any terms. Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry but I'm a little confused on print size and matt size. Can you confirm what size we are aiming for please?

Thanks,
S.

The overall mat/frame sizes to choose from are 20x16, 20x20, 16x12 & 16x16.

You just need to decide your print size and see how many inches of a border you'll get with the different mat/frame sizes.

For example, if I plan to make a 16x12 print, I will use the 20x16 frame which gives me two inches of a border on all sides of my mat.
If I make a 12x12 print, I will then use a 16x16 frame if I want a two inch mat border or a 20x20 frame if I want a four inch mat border.

Hope that helps,
Peter

All my prints should go in 16x20 mats and frames, but I'll defer to the organizers to make any last minute judgment calls. I can submit as many photos of Ireland as you wish, so once you decide the number, I'll get them in the mail (DHL)! Thanks.

OK so people, the cost of the framing is as follows. All mounts are archival and on off-white board. Units are inches.

16x20 - 40 euro each
20x20 - 45 euro each
16x12 - 30 euro each
16x16 - 35 euro each

This cost includes the mounting, framing and cord only. The framer needs the work two weeks in advance of the hanging. Peter can you determine the hanging date please?

Can everyone PM me with a line or two about their work, the curator is looking for some blurb and a little bit of info from you guys would be most helpful

Thanks

Fintan

Fintan,

I'd like to translate these dates into a deadline for me to ship. Would having the print in your hands by the first of September give you enough time, not only for the framer but for getting the framed prints to Airfield, etc?
