Molli, I see, makes sense.

If we do meet up somewhere in the Grampians, I'll have to make you a hot chocolate using my latest find; German sourced bio and friendly to the farmer, sourced from the third world, 40% cocoa hot chocolate. :D

Well, you know me, I'm all about being friendly to the farmer :D

Assuming I don't get lost or run over by my own car, I'd be delighted to take you up on your kind offer, Mick. Merci beaucoup!

Kevin, you're supposed to be making it easier for Marc to pin down a particular date by being very firm and decisive! (Because we all know I'M not going to do it!)

The next APCS camera market is on September 14th, so we're fine...

So far...
6th & 7th September - Mick, Shane, Molli, Kevin, Me & Christine
20th & 21st September - Mick, Shane, LJH, Molli, Me & Christine
27th 28th September - Mick, LJH, Kevin, Molli, Me & Christine

Also - Yanluk, and maybe Joachim.

That's - six people for each date!! Aaaaaaah!

And me maybe on any of them, possibly (can't plan that far ahead, missus doing PhD and may or may not be finishing around that time. The plus side is, she prefers it when I'm out of the house not distracting her)

Hey I'll pipe in here. I've got the best chance of being able to attend (with family) if it is 27/28th. It is the middle of the school holidays and we will either be on our way back from Mildura via Warracknabeal or on way up there via the same.

Like Lachlan said a get together before hand would be great if some of us can manage it.

Shane, can you squeeze in the 27/28th before your New York adventure?

so the real question for Mick, Mollie, Christine and you is who would you rather go away with, Lachlan, Kevin or me....

It looks as though Andy was waiting to find out who was going when and has broken the tie-breaker... don't be taking it personally, Shane. I'm sure his timing had NOTHING whatsoever to do with your absence that weekend

As Marc said (implied) New York Schmoo Mork, surely a trip to the Grampians with all of us delightful eccentrics takes precedence, yes?

So, it's decided then... we're going for the entire month of September and you, Shane, will be along at some stage to join in the fun before flying out to New York?!

(And to stop me from feeling so wretchedly guilty about that sad little face above  )

I'd love to come along, can't really commit to anything that far ahead. My 30th is on the 18th, so I guess the 20 & 21 are out, possibly that next weekend is too, as it's my girlfriends birthday around then.
Apparently I have to have a party.. I think a camping/ photo trip sounds better.

Tentative yes to any one of those weekends for me. Obviously I will know closer to the time what can be confirmed.

Alright, to refresh this thread after I've been on holidays for a month...

Currently, we're looking at:
27th 28th September - Mick, LJH, Kevin, Molli, Andy C, Me & Christine

Also - Yanluk, Dr Croubie and maybe Joachim, JamesR & Colin D

Anyone else?

Sorry if it's buried in the archives of this thread (...not that I've looked very hard), but what sort of times are you thinking of arriving/leaving? I'll have my son with me for the week leading up to the big event, including that morning, so I may not be able to get there before lunch.

...if a lunchtime departure suits anyone who wants to leave for Geelong, I'm happy to be chauffeur.

I turn 50 on the same day, so let's have a combined party at the Grampians.

1 year later and I still haven't had my 30th, neither has the missus (we're waiting until she finishes her PhD, then we can party).

meanwhile, not really sure where I'll be at in Sept. hopefully in a new job, lest I'll be insane by then. also, physio says prolonged sitting is bad for me, so 8 hours driving should be out (just depends on whether i listen to him or not).
If i'm lucky i can swing an extended holiday and drive down over a few days. if i'm luckier i'll have a travelwide or some 8x10 film to try out new toys on the way...

Oh to be 50- again, on the other hand maybe not, being retired does have it's perks. We are still in Germany having left in March, will be back next month. :D

It looks like we'll probably either head off on the Friday, spend time in the Grampians, then head to Canberra for the Floriade, or do the reverse.

De Floriade is every 10 years in the Netherlands and won't be back until 2022, since when is it in Canberra?
