Just curious. I have a bit of vintage gear, papers, chems and some darkroom kit looking for a home. It might be worth a look if you are in the lower South Island.

Hi,

I just joined in the last week - based in Waimate. I'm just getting back into this after nearly 40 years. I have just developed by first films over the last few days.

Where are you and what have you got?

Sorry to resurrect - still looking for a home? I'm up in the Waikato but trying (depends how much my wife will tolerate) to set up a darkroom.

Hey, still haven't quite organised this. I'll have 2 weeks off in early July and plan to get it underway then.

Just a bit of a side note, my Gallery and Gold Street Studios are doing a swap of artists and shows featuring alternative printing, next fall (2025) a group of Australian photographers will exhibit at my gallery and in Feb or March of 2027 myself and a couple of Canadian artists are going to exhibit in Australia. plans are under way no formal announcement, but I thought I would put it out there. I plan to visit for the show with my wife and main assistant , we are hopefully going to do a road trip from Perth to the east side near Melbourne, not sure how feasible this road trip is, what side of the road do you guys drive on and is it true the toilet flushes the opposite way than in Canada...hmmmmmm

Hey Bob, not sure if you intended to post this here as this thread was for New Zealand rather than Australia, however if you're flying all the way to Australia you should check out New Zealand at the same time as it's only another 2.5 hours away and a very beautiful country.

Never driven from Perth to Melbourne (I grew up in Sydney) but that's about a 2200 mile drive and I'd imagine loooong stretches of that are going to be very empty countryside, I don't think there's much of anything between Perth and Adelaide and it's not something that I'd ever choose to do.

We drive on the left-hand side of the road here (opposite to the USA) and as far as I know the toilet flushes whichever direction it wants to but my experience is that the operating mechanism of toilets around here tend to be different to the ones in north America (in terms of how the bowl drains).
