I can't think of anything they need to offer, certainly nothing that there would be much of a demand for. Even the Ektachrome announcement was crazy in my opinion.

I agree , the Ectachrome launch as all the E6 labs are going down.. unless of course they have built a facility in Rochester to mail in film... I want Ectalure come on Kodak.

I have been waiting and waiting for either Kodak or Ferrania to market a color reversal 16mm and Super8 movie film. Right now movie cameras only have rebadged reversal film meant for still cameras which is not always suitable. The Vision negative films are apparently very good but not not for my way of working.
What I have learned from the Ferrania saga is that making a color reversal film is an extremely complex process.
All I can do is sit and wait and hope that when reversal stock reappears on the market I will not be too feeble to handle my Arriflex and Beaulieu cameras.

Perhaps it's reverse psychology and they're in reality bringing backa slow films so it's either Panatomic-X 32, Ektar 25 or Kodachrome 25

I'd guess a fast colour negative film, but what kind of demand is there for that?

Well, considering Fuji is cutting the Natura 1600, there is no real fast color negative film left. Apart from portrait 800 films. But I hope it will be a color reversal film, like a 400 speed Ektachrome

However, Kodak pro has already to replied to "Is it Ektachrome/Kodachrome" questions with a big fat

Kodak Professional posted today on their Twitter and Facebook that they will be making an announcement on Friday this week, apparently they'll be posting hints every day about what it could be.
Most likely i would say it's going to be the official release date for the new Ektachrome, afterall it's supposed to be out before April 2018.

Can we agree it's Kodak Alaris, so it's got nothing to do with Cine film? Maybe something really good will happen. I would love to see a network of quality processing and printing services like Kodak had up until they spun off their processing service to form Qualex. A nice new color negative film maybe??.

I hope that Kodak doesn't try to chip away at Ilford's business. It would be scary as heck if anything happened to Ilford.

I hope that Kodak doesn't try to chip away at Ilford's business. It would be scary as heck if anything happened to Ilford.

The only thing that would really do that is a silver gel black and white paper, Ilford pretty much owns black and white photography due to having a complete front to back solution.

I realize you were most likely joking. However, a "new-generation, Vision 3 technology" 1,600 or 3,200 speed color negative film with grain as fine or finer than Portra 800 would a great thing, especially if it were offered in medium format or sheets, in addition to 35mm.
