WPPI is a clue, and if the other clues hadn't emphasized B&W so much, I'd guess Vericolor. Historically the common B&W wedding photo was a pushed (or fairly grainy) high-speed B&W film. With the quick turnaround necessary for modern films, I'm sure it will be something fast, grainy, and maybe optimized for scanning (it better not be a goddamned high-speed C-41 B&W film). My guess is something to plug the hole left by discontinuation of Tmax 3200.

Which is something you endlessly rant about. But what if the new Kodachrome rendered skies to your liking?

Kodachrome will not happen, but if you will just send me some of the stuff you are smoking, I will imbibe.

That's because poor workmen always blame their tools.

Blather. Modern Photography and Popular Photography complained about the muddy skies, so you now know what you can do with that useless statement.

Kodak will bring back Tri-X 400 in all sheet film and make all emulsions available in 70mm with Hasselblad perforations and 220. Boy this stuff from George is great to inhale. <<wink>> <<wink>>

Do photographers till use tungsten lights. I thought everything shifted to strobe years (decades) ago.

I still like it for available light night photography, although the LED and other advances in outdoor lighting may well change that.

Don't need TMax P3200. That segment of high speed film is very well serviced by Ilford's Delta 3200

I don’t agree. Delta 3200 is way too red sensitive, a look that I absolutely hate. In some instances it’s not obvious, but some others it’s unbearable.

Kodak 3200 had a much different color sensitivity, and its grain was unique. They are two very different products.

If this really is the return of TMZ.
Don't expect it to be cheap.
If it's like the old TMZ, it'll have a 12 month expiration date, the production volume will probably be fairly low.

Not if the new film has ISO 6400 real box speed ! That would be a coup I easyly could imagine Kodak will sell tons of that emulsion -
But we both definitifly can´t know Minoltafan isn´t it ......:whistling:

with greetings

I don't know of any "true" ISO 3200 or 6400 film, don't know f it's possible with modern technologies.
Tmax P-3200 was in reality about 1250 ISO, released in 1989.
Ilford Delta 3200is in reality about 1000 ISO, and that was released in 1999.

Don't know why we are talking about 16mm perforations, as 16mm movie film is an Eastman Kodak and not Kodak alaris product.

double perf 16mm will fit any 16mm camera no mater if intended for single or double perf. EXCEPT
A) Auricon and any other camera that records a Soundtrack optically. (because there would be holes in the track)
B) Cameras modified to shoot "Super 16" where the former soundtrack (and second row of perforation) area is used to record a larger image for either scanning, or optical printing to a different format.

Kodak decided to offer ONLY single perf film as it will work in the majority of 16mm camera made since the 1950s and they wanted to promote using super16 rather than digital capture. some 16mm camera have a double pref sprocket, or even use the second row for the Camera pull down claw. (I have a nice Kodak Cine Special that is set up like that.)

The 16mm Magazines also were designed to use Double perf film.

and yes regular 8 is double perf with twice as many holes. (or more importantly half teh spacing

It wouldn't be extraordinary to have an analogue photography related UK pension fund (the owners of Kodak Alaris) owning Harman Technology Limited.

if they bought Harmon, the world would be smaller not bigger. And in a few years it would be nonexistant.....

A super fast black and white film would be cool. Maybe PE can chime in but IIRC there were some new technologies that the big guys were on the cusp of when film hit the skids. TMZ was an old film when it was retired.

Maybe they have a new version of TMY? They are talking about pushing.
