Well, a turnip is a little old-fashioned, usually a little dirty, and always a little bitter.

Just work on a perfect blend of these attributes, and you will come close to turnipicious nirvana. Oh, and do everything photographically exactly like I do. Or might do.

Dinner turned out well, but I have to admit that Melchi, who just turned one year old a couple of weeks ago, didn't care for the turnips. There's always a critic.

Well... I am so glad I checked this thread out. That's what I love about APUG... you just never know what will... 'turn-up.'

He likes some unusual things, so I thought it was worth a try, but they are a little bitter, and that's not a flavor he cares for. He did like the corned beef quite a lot, but then he helped me make it. Every morning we'd open the refrigerator and I'd say, "okay time to turn the beef," and I'd turn it and say, "there, we turned the beef!"

Clay, you rock !!! This is perfect. I have no idea what I am, still trying to figure it out. Probably a tossed salad since I end up with all sorts of things mixed together and occasionally I get the dressing right and it tastes good.

You could form a band with some people named lettuce and pea. Lettuce Turnip and Pea. Kinda has a nice ring to it. Would you have to be a vegan to listen to the music?

Vegan is a native word for "lousy hunter".

No-one has chosen brussel sprouts. Is that because nobody likes them and they smell bad? I can think of a few people that suit that name.

Brussel sprouts are actually quite nice, when they're cooked right. They should be firm and still slightly crisp, and not (as they usually are) boiled to a yellowish mush.

As for me, I'm trying to break the habit by wearing a turnip patch. After all, you don't know what might turnup.

I prefer my Brussel sprouts thinly sliced up, and sauted in a boat load of buttah... they are the perfect vehicle to get butter from the table to your mouth. I'm making them tonight for dinner despite being the only one in the family who likes them.

So, I'll take the title!!

I'm confused. Do I address you as "Clay, Turnip" or simply "Turnip" or are you "The Turnip"? I see lots of turnips at the store, and they are turnips, so are you one of many, from many, one?? E Pluribus Unum? Can I aspire to be a Turnip, or do I have to get my own thing? Is there room in NM? How much cash do I have to cough up? So many questions.

The problem with being Turnip is that you have to deal with all the people who say: "I hate Turnips!", or "Turnips cause gas!" etc.

That's bad for one's self-esteem.

Have you considered something more positive and uplifting - such as Avocado?
