Fort Worth,
I stayed up late making long exposures of our lakefront under the moonlight. Now I'm too sleepy to print.

Maybe next anniversary.

Zzzzzz...

I'll try and get mine developed later today, and hopefully posted late tonight, if not by tomorrow night.

I had no faith that I could go out on a specific day and produce something that is worthy of sharing so I just sent a card. I did shoot the photo for it yesterday, though.

I had a little difficulty with this...

First of all, I slept most of the day. That is necessary when working a 12-hour night shift. So there wasn't much light in the hours I was awake.

Second, the only camera I had available was my newest old toy, a FED-2. No light meter, no tripod - so night photography was out.

Third, the camera was loaded with C41-type BW film. If not, I would have developed it already.

But I'l get it developed today, just in case there's something usable there. I can always print it myself - or scan the print from the lab...

I'd just like to say "Thank you!" to APUG (and especially Aggie, whose grand idea this was!) for getting me out of bed at 0545 to stand by the roadside watching one of the most beautiful dawns I've seen (hopefully I have some of it on Velvia) and later for recapturing and improving on a shot I did a couple of years ago in a station underpass.

I'm hoping to get the results up at the weekend but, whatever they turn out like, I had a really good time.

Thanks again

Frank

Haven't had net access until now but I did shoot, umm, eight or nine rolls on the seventh. Might be a while before I scan 'em.

Mine will be showing up when and if I have time to finish the roll of Delta 100 in my 35mm. I shot some color also but nothing was worth posting.

Bump!

Last year (was it *really* that long ago?!) this was an utter hoot (even if it did get me out of bed at a Godawful hour on a Sunday morning!). Now, with the membership considerably increased with all manner of exceptionally talented people, it should be a blast!

I know we've got a few weeks to think about it yet, but...

Anyone fancy a rerun?

Shouldn't we have some sort of theme? Like: View from my window on 7th September or something of that ilk?

only problem wiht a theme is it limits some people. Sure we can be creative, but some feel restrained when it has to be done on a certain day. Last year was fun seeing what everyone did. Personally I think it should just be a free forall again.

My shot might be a little boring... unless my neighbor decides to do some nude sunbathing on Sept 7. (dismal chance of that, I've been waiting for years with no luck).

I like the idea of everybody just taking a photo on 9/7, street, landscape, family, friends, work, home, large format, 35mm, toy camera...whatever they want to contribute to demonstrate and celebrate the diversity in photographic styles and interests and personalities and wordwide localities that this forum has brought together through a mutual interest in traditional photography.

Sounds likea plan. I suggest that anyone who is interested, send a print to Sean for the APUG permanent collection. If enough people are interested in doing it, I can coordinate shipping as one package to NZ. I think it would be a great way to thank our founder for building such a cool site.

Sounds good to me. I don't mind sending Sean a print. He does a great job with this forum.

It would be a honor to have a collection of work from our members. Maybe one day when we have our first APUG convention they could go on display, or eventually go on some kind of world gallery tour. I think we could swing a convention in 2-3 years, or atleast an informal get together.

I'm in if you take photos from "The New Guy". September 7th is a beautiful day to take a photograph, but what day isn't.

If you shoot film, post.

It was fun last year and it will be great to see the work of the many new members who have joined over the past year.

I agree! I have no idea where I'll be or what I'll be doing then....
