Well, I did the wax paper test, and the range finder matched the focus on the wax paper at measured distances. Maybe I just can't focus with the little split diamond deal.

Anyhow, I ran a roll of HP5 through it at all f-stops, set at iso800... I tried really hard, like, extra hard to get everything into focus.

We'll see how things turn out.

A lot of people like the Electro, but it's not exactly the Rolls-Royce of cameras. I wouldn't judge all rangefinder systems by it.

Thank you.

A Yugo isnt remotely close to a Bentley. Sure they both have 4 wheels, but that's about where it ends. Lose the Electro and get a Leica, or Hexar AF.:surprised:

Any lovers of the FED, Kiev or Lomo brands? I love Soviet era things, and have thought about picking up a FED for a while. I will do that wax paper focus test deal tomorrow.

Good morning, John;

In addition to the Minoltas and the Yashicas, I also have a Zorki 4K. Does that count?

That Electro just needs to be fixed. I like it a lot, though I prefer my Lynx 14e IC. Don't get rid of it. Keep it; fix it and get a Leica if you want.
