All formats: You are going out the door, you grab a camera. Which are the ones most likely left home?

For me the Tessina single frame. With the prism it is annoying heavy on the wrist and its controls are not convenient.
WideLux F7, I just do not find the format all that useful.
4"x5" just do not go out unless I have a particular need for them.

That is my story and I am sticking to it. What is your story?

Toyo 4x5. Because its big, baulky and slow. I like using it, but its the one I use the least.

I leave the MFand LF cameras and take a compact 35mm rangefinder camera.

I never take my view cameras outside unless ,I go on a specific landscape trip but, the Hasselblad can handle most of that too.

What stays at home is:

- large format
- medium format Hasselblads and RB67's
- any 35mm or other format camera needing a battery (I remove all batteries when a camera is not being used); yes usually I am too lazy to insert a battery

Still, that leaves me with a large selection from Minox III to Fuji GW690III.

However, in the last three months I've been taking Exaktas with me.

11x14" and 7x17". I feel I need to plan to use those, but in reality, they're no more difficult than smaller view cameras. I just like to have a concrete idea about where I'll be transporting them before heading out.

I normally leave my 35 MM gear home and now days my MF, to take either my 4x5 or 5x7 field cameras. That doesn't necessarily mean I will shoot either, but that they go "just in case".

Well, since you said all formats...

If you mean just going out for anything except specifically to shoot, then, occasionally (not very often) everything gets left at home but the XT-10 w/the 35 f2. If I definitely only want one camera, then that's it.

But since I like to always have film, my "go bag" goes nearly everywhere w/me, which contains either the F100 or FE2 w/Voigtlander 40 f2, which is my normal lens. The Voigtlander 58 1.4 goes too ('cause it's too awesome not to bring it), as well as a Yongnuo 560iii and wireless commander ('cause ya never know). The XT-10 also goes in there.

The bag is a LowePro Flipside 200, and everything fits easily and the weight isn't bad. Sometimes my monopod gets strapped on the bag, depending on my mood.

Edit: what stays at home are the F4, F100 or FE2, D750, and Yashica D.

Like everyone else, I leave the view cameras at home unless I have a specific idea of where I'm going with one.
However, sometimes I throw a couple big box pinhole cameras in the back of the car, even if I don't know that I'll use one... they don't weigh anything and can sit in the car if I don't use it... There's usually a 5x7 tin can camera stuck under the passenger seat, just in case....

It does not get used enough and a single roll can take more than a year to finish. A thoroughly annoying format.
MF goes anywhere and everywhere all the time.

Yep, agree with Du Jour,... Nikon 35mm stays home, with all its lenses, although it got me started in film again..
Right now the 2x3 Speed is favorite over 3x4 and 4x5 and the RB67 is awaiting its light seals to be repaired...
Makes no difference, go film in what ever format...

A whole year? I usually finish off a roll of 35mm in a single afternoon! One week at most.

My Nikons and my mamiya 645 are the ones seeing the least action for for long now. Mostly I take the rz67proII and sometimes the chamonix 45F1

Anything that doesn't have built in lugs. I need my hands free when I'm out and I hate when the strap gets twisted like the tripod sling styles do.

I have a few cameras that I love but they get little use beyond the front yard because they are a pain to cart around in hand.

My RZ67 is getting a bit too heavy for me to carry around all day. Furthermore, I'm now the proud owner of three Mamiya TLR's which are a lot easier for a day of shooting. I'm now trying to decide of I should keep the RZ system I have or sell it.

35mm stays home, in fact I haven't shot 35mm for a while. I alternate between 4x5 or Hasselblads in the car. My D800 is always in the car also.

The single camera most likely to stay home is the 14x17, for I think rather obvious reasons. As a category, the large format is most likely to stay home - I haven't even shot anything with my Sinar Norma 5x7 yet, because it's just a bulky pig of a camera, and I don't have a studio anymore. The second-most likely to not go out is the 35mm. I've been hanging on to those systems out of nostalgia, but they're just gathering dust so it's probably time to move them along to someone who will use them. The most likely to leave the house is the Rolleiflex and/or the Lomo Belair X/6-12. Second-most likely to get used is the Fuji X-T1.

Large format requires planning- load holders, specific location in mind, so they're most likely to be left home. Lately, my grab and go camera is the Fuji 6x9s. I'll also grab a Diana/Holga from time to time.

Depends what I am doing, if going for a walk then I take the lightest, either a folder mf or fixed lens 35mm, if going to an event I have 2 bags packed, one has my leica3f and the canon 7 with lenses and Weston, I have another bag with 2 tlr's, my microcord and Rolleiflex, with filters and close up outfit with another weston, so one of those gets left behind,, or whatever of my fixed lens folders that does not come to hand

If going out the door to do something other than take pictures and not caring a bag...a Minox 8x11 or Minolta 16 slipped into pocket; if carrying a bag...lately a folding Contessa or screw mount Leica. The big, heavy and bulky stuff is for special situations.

Almost certainly the 8x10 or larger gets left behind unless I'm on a mission.

After that it all depends on my mood as 35mm, medium format or 4x5 (Wanderlust or Graflex) is as likely as any other to be left behind.

In the past couple of months I've been on a Holga kick so I pack it (or the Brownie) with me quite a bit.
