Good evening (or morning, or afternoon) everyone!

I stumbled across this website amidst my foray into the world of B&W photography. I figured I should join up on the forum, because it looks like there are a ton of knowledgeable people here, and it is always nice to have a good resource to turn to when you need a little bit of advice. I acquired my first range finder about a year ago, after having spent a few years with a Canon digital point and shoot, and have not looked back. I have since burned through almost a hundred rolls of film, primarily shooting B&W. I took a few classes here in Seattle, and have loved learning about the whole process from developing to printing. I hope to continue to grow my knowledge of film, and expand into medium format and eventually large format as well. But for now, I'm working with 35mm and enjoying every minute!

Thanks for having me!

Welcome!

Rangefinders are wonderful ways to look at the world. I just printed a couple shots tonight from a 6x9 folding rangefinder - darn thing had pinholes in the bellows. I didn't realize it had a light leak. Last time I used the camera was a family road trip to Seattle and I got lots of flare and hated it so I put it away for a long time. Over time I got over my prejudice against flare and anticipated some funkiness - and I got it in spades.

Since you're on the west coast you'll tend to have to wait for our Aussie friends to wake up before you get answers. On the other hand, you'll find you get the last word in...

Welcome, from just a bit north of you, in the area of Vancouver, BC Canada.

I'm a regular visitor to Seattle.

Hope you enjoy your time here.
