+1it certainly would have been interesting to get Mirko’s thoughts on Ferrania. Given what he said about the difficulties of manufacturing film I imagine he would view their efforts with sympathy, so hearing what he thought on that topic would have been of interest
I am pretty interested in those pictures, having just read the 2nd edition of Robert Shanebrook's excellent "Making Kodak Film". In that book, the reader learns a whole lot about every aspect of making black and white (color too) films. It ain't easy, folks. Mirko is willing to take it on. My hat is off to him... and I'm going to order some of his film from Freestyle (Los Angeles) on my next film order. I shoot 35mm, MF, 4x5 and 8x10. b&w film. There is an update in the new factory building blog about the last 6 week´s achievements: http://www.adox.de/Photo/progress-in-march-and-april/

I really hope that they will be able to bring CHS II 120 film back on .
You might be waiting quite a whileUnless I'm mistaken that is just a matter of time.

This is a small company and need to prioritize what they make.
It is great, but I need 120. If they deliver it and will be able to keep the price resonable - I'm going to order a lot and maybe froze it - I really regret that I had not frozen some Verichrome PAN at the time it was available...the gentleman who runs ADOX, HAS said that the CHS film - Successor to R21 and KB21 was the priority to get into production. BUT they want to do it entirely in House. so that may take them some time. Getting there Photo chemicals production process going is where they are pointing at the moment, however, the Sheet Film was made available in December 2018.
I wonder how many people here buy ADOX film? Has anyone evaluated their different films? It would seem like a good idea to support smaller companies that will be in it for the long term. Besides Ferrania, are there other small artisan firms around?
I really hope that they will be able to bring CHS II 120 film back on .
Waiting for rebrands of old films is a waste of your time..support current mfgs
Sounds fabulous. I'm really excited about what the Adox team is delivering. Right size operation. Sustainable, and hopefully a return on investment that means Adox will be around for a long time.ADOX CHS 100 II is not a rebrand of an old film.
This film is
- a new product with lots of R&D efforts
- a unique ADOX product, you cannot get it elsewhere
- from current, modern production (multi-layer coating)
- similar in spectral sensivity and tonality to its former, first version, but it is significantly improved in all other parameters (sharpness, resolution, grain, robustness, versatility, QC, more different formats).

The "ortho" tonality + good sensitivity ( all other ortho films are of ISO 25 or lower) - along with hight overall quality - made this film my today's favorite... but my stock of 120 has goon long time ago, I'm yet still having 12-15 rolls of 35 mm in my freezer. Best luck for you guys in restoring the production of this wonderful film - we realy appreciate your efforts...ADOX CHS 100 II is not a rebrand of an old film.
