A man in a red suit drops in and insists on printing some pictures of his reindeer?

I hope you don't have a chimney in your dark room ... unless you make carbon prints ...

Mine are boxed & addressed - going to the post office this arvo.

haha looks like i wont be getting back 11 identical prints  seriously though, this is a prick of a time of year to tell your mrs that you are spending a whole day locked up in the darkroom to make photos for people on the internet.

Don't tell her, just hide there with the door locked. Since the lights will be out at all times she won't guess you're in there

Just make sure the light switch is on the inside of the darkroom.
Mine's on the outside of my bathroom, haven't had any disasters ... ... yet.

Canadian prints still haven't arrived? Someone must be taking a holiday! I bought a LF T lens from a store in Japan just before Xmas. It arrived Jan. 2. Furthermore, it cost me less to have it shipped from Japan than if I had bought it in the US. Sometimes mail delivery makes no sense to me

OK, its time for a Roll Call.

Below is what I understand is the current state of play:

  1. Hoffy - DONE
  2. Oxleyroad - RECEIVED
  3. Michael W - RECEIVED
  4. Munz6869 - Being Processed
  5. Nige - RECEIVED
  6. spatz - Being Processed
  7. Andrew k - Being Processed
  8. walbergb - Posted
  9. Dr Croubie - Being Processed
  10. TheToadMen - Posted
  11. Jamespierce - Status Unknown
  12. quickbrownfox - RECEIVED

OK, for those who have not posted their prints, its time for a status update.

As I did say, though, due to the Festive Season a bit of grace time is OK. If we decided to continue on with this print exchange, we will have to massage the rounds a bit so we have a delivery cut off of the 1st of December, instead of the 1st of January.

Cheers

PS - Dr C, I'm around at the moment and should be except for a few days where I will venture up to my Folks farm. I am happy to organise a pickup and am happy to meet you where ever is easiest!

Hey everyone! I was unlucky enough that Sydney Uni shuts down between the 17th of Dec. till the 5th of Jan. So only this Monday was I able to get printing. Anyway, i just have some spotting to do and ill have them posted either tomorrow or the day after (work permitting). Cheers!

The world's three greatest lies:

1. Yes, I will respect you in the morning.
2. I'm from the government and I'm here to help. (I was a career civil servant, so I can poke fun at them)
3. It's in the mail.

Well, here's my proof:

(copy of receipt)

It says hat the parcel is accepted as "registered mail" on December 22nd and marked as flown from Holland to Australia on December 27th. I'm not use if the info from Australian postal services will be registered on this website also.
But the package should in Australia since December 28th.
I don't suppose customs will be a hold up??

BTW: @hoffy: it's a box wrapped in brown paper wrapped in a lot of tape. If you open it carefully you can reuse the box to send 11 prints back to me.

I think my concern here is that it appears to have not arrived in Australia yet. That being said, sometimes tracking is pretty haphazard in Australia.

I'll ask a few questions and see if I can find out what the process is once it reaches Australia.

Now, I am just double checking - you did send it by Air and not surface?

EDIT: Just checked - status has now changed to "Received in country of destination". This could still be a few days (or even a week) away. (yes, i have very little faith in the speed of our local postal service).

Toady, how Aust post works is a mystery! If it's any consolation, Walbergb's package arrived only yesterday.

Hurray!! Good thing too, because if the package didn't arrive, I'd have to resort to lie #2. BTW, you (the plural "you") can call me Bob; and, no I'm not your uncle! The "b" in "Walbergb" = Bob:cool: Where I worked (past tense because I'm proudly retired) our username was last name plus first initial. I found it easier to stick with it than change. It reduces the amount of thinking I have to do. As I get older, I have to reserve my thinking time to important things, like photography:D

Hi Bob not my uncle,
Lie #2 isn't applicable since the postal services aren't run by the government for some decades now (at least overhere). And no, I don't believe they are that slow to the effect that these (former) civil servants didn't know that yet (or didn't care for that matter). Those days are history!
