+1Thanks for the update, AgX.
Nothing about the phrase 'circular bokeh' suggests a petzval. More likely they have a lot of aperture blades or they're curved or something, resulting in a near circular aperture.
I think we did this conversation to death about 6 years agoI often see Petzval lenses described as having "swirly" bokeh, something that's easily observed.

A Follow Up:
The brand name Mayer-Görlitz Optik has been acquired by a 2 1/2 years old, tiny german start-up, OPC Optics.
To my understanding they are designing industrial optics and have the ability to assemble lenses, but neither manufacture lens-element nor barrels themself.
They offer prototypes and small series.

They intend to take over a few consumer lenses from the late Meyer-Görlitz portfolio which shall then be manufactured in Germany.
(The late Meyer-Görlitz claimed german manufacture, but that turned out to be rather final control.)
They intend to re-compute these designs.
They intend to apply a classic marketing strategy for these lenses.
A german enterprise, already marketing german made photo accessories, have announced to revive the brand name "Meyer Optik" and to offer german made lenses under that brand.
