It is, particularly if you happen to have any really big developing tanks.
The container I use happens to be 2 US quarts, which is close to 2v litres. I like them because that was what the Dollar Store had with the features I like:
1) robust, fairly heavy duty clear plastic;
2) a hand grip molded in, for ease of handling;
3) both a wide mouth opening and a smaller pouring spout in he cap, which seal tight and are made of plastic, not metal.
4) tall, with straight sides and a relatively small footprint.
They are actually designed for relative large quantities of mixed up from frozen fruit juice, and they suit me well.

Even the metric system requires time adjustment for the temperature. Time and temperature do not change liquid volumetric measurements nor weight measurements.

While I prefer to work in metric, there are some advantages to fluid ounces when your developer of choice comes in a package to make one US gallon and the working solution is designed to develop 16 rolls - one per 8 ounces.
