A brand new Super 8 camera from Kodak?

Who actually makes Portra, Ektar and Tmax? Where is the factory?

Who makes film for the Super 8 and where is the factory?

Who makes Vision 3 film and where is the factory?

The factory for film is in Rochester, and the factory for paper is at Harrow in England.

With respect to the manufacture of paper by Kodak Alaris, potentially also in Colorado and China.

Kodak Alaris owns (part of) the Colorado plant, not the Rochester plant.

Thank you.

I'm not aware of any manufacturing in China by Kodak or Alaris at the present time.

Alaris does use the former plant at Colorado for the wide paper and print film for RA4 processes. IIRC, it rents time on the coating machine. I don't think that there is much production left though.

I was basing my comment on the terms of the bankruptcy settlement, which included transfer of to Alaris of certain manufacturing assets, including assets in China.

Those assets could of course have been leases, contractual entitlements, or ?

Good move i say for kodak this is a step in the right direction, and they are promising that we will see more exciting products.

I hope this means Ektachrome will reappear!

DOnt count on Kodachrome though, but if kodak does the whole retro thing, i think this is great!

That video is a promotional video by Kodak.

I just checked Kodak Alaris' "blog" and see that there hasnt been a single film entry since June of this year. I guess writing up an article or two every month was too much work for them.

Glad to see that making snarky comments is'nt too much work for some of us.

There IS a lot of activity on the Kodak Motion Picture Film pages on Facebook

But there are people as me who are no members at Facebook and thus excluded from these informations.

That super 8 camera was announced a long time ago. It's not out yet??
May 2017 is the date I was given at the "Kodakery" pop-up shop. They had there what looked like a pre-production model.
It seemed very nice.

Like Sean said: "Just create an anonymous 'dummy' facebook account and keep it logged in. It would work fine for those purposes." I've seen quite a few such pages.

Well, they could be discussing such at their own site.
The idea of linkages with personal sites to me seems non appropriate for concerns, museums etc. But that's the way it is done today.
But I admit I'm a old fart on this matter.

I really don't understand why a lot of companies are focusing on their "social media" presence in spite of their own websites. From a marketing standpoint, I can't see how this could be right. The whole idea would be, ideally, to attract traffic to your own website, right?

I used to "do" Facebook, but no more. I've quit even Instagram. No time to watch other people's lives and even less time to show my ridiculously unimportant life.

Cheers,
Flavio

Sure it is. Kodak picks where they want to reach people and if they have limited thinking like this then it is 100% their fault.
Actually, if people have limited thinking about social media things like Facebook, then it is 100% their fault.

Too funny. Kodak can keep their limited thinking if that if is what works for them. Using that strategy I wont see Kodak's name and so will think of them less and less, which is probably why I ordered 20 rolls of Fuji 400H last week instead of Portra.
