I wonder if that's good for film, or bad for the rest of the company?

But historically film has been a hugely profitable venture, so if they've been able to get their production scaled down to meet the new lower demand, I suppose it could be again.

If you buy an iPhone, are you buying it from Apple or from Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., trading as Foxconn Technology Group?

Who actually makes Portra, Ektar and Tmax? Where is the factory?

Who makes film for the Super 8 and where is the factory?

Who makes Vision 3 film and where is the factory?

I bought an iPhone from a mobile operator. It was designed by Apple, but it was made by Hon Hai (a.k.a. Foxconn)... Confusing, eh?

The factory for film is in Rochester, and the factory for paper is at Harrow in England.

With respect to the manufacture of paper by Kodak Alaris, potentially also in Colorado and China.

Kodak Alaris owns (part of) the Colorado plant, not the Rochester plant.

I'm not aware of any manufacturing in China by Kodak or Alaris at the present time.

Alaris does use the former plant at Colorado for the wide paper and print film for RA4 processes. IIRC, it rents time on the coating machine. I don't think that there is much production left though.

I was basing my comment on the terms of the bankruptcy settlement, which included transfer of to Alaris of certain manufacturing assets, including assets in China.

Those assets could of course have been leases, contractual entitlements, or ?

Good move i say for kodak this is a step in the right direction, and they are promising that we will see more exciting products.

I hope this means Ektachrome will reappear!

DOnt count on Kodachrome though, but if kodak does the whole retro thing, i think this is great!

kuparikettu, where did you find a place to purchase the camera online? I've looked around and can't seem to find it anywhere.

I just checked Kodak Alaris' "blog" and see that there hasnt been a single film entry since June of this year. I guess writing up an article or two every month was too much work for them.
