This evening I received a nice German Ventura 69 (6x9) pocket folder. It has a 105mm f6.3 Agnar in a Vario shutter (no coupled rangefinder).

As a free bonus the seller included what he described as "...a 1913 wooden bodied folding strut camera converted for 120 roll film."

The bonus camera turned out to be an Icarette 501 rollfilm camera, image size 4.25 inches by 2.5 inches! The lens is a 120mm f4.5 Zeiss Jena Tessar in the old style Compur Shutter. The lens is clean and clear and the shutter works well. The bellows appears to be light tight. The camera has adapters (homemade) for 120 roll film. Looks like you need to load it in a darkroom (or changing bag).

I'm going to try both folders out this weekend.

The "bonus" sounds more fun than the Ventura!

MUCH MORE FUN!!!

This bonus baby has a rising front, a built-in bubble level, an eye level fast finder and a waist level finder.

BTW, one of the items in this purchase was an excellent Voigtlander auxilary rangefinder.

I'm going to try both folders out this weekend.

Turns out that I was able to rework the film transport system so that I can now sucessfully load 120 roll film (and operate the film transport) in subdued light.

I took the camera out in the Santa Monica Mountains last Saturday evening near sunset. The film was efke R100, developed semi-stand in 1+1+100 Pyrocat-HD.

Here is a sample from the roll, contact printed on Azo, contact scanned.
