Afraid of what lady, my wife looked at it and told me to go for it, if I wanted it...My wife and I have an agreement, she don't say anything about my photo spending and I don't say anything about her craft spending...

LOL
Cool,

I might try that with my wife, her hobby is quilting and they all have HUGE stash's of material 'they might need for a project'

My wife is a quilter too. She doesn't have any stash. No, not any. Nope, no stacks of fabric covering our dining table. No-siree.

Oddly, when I started this thread, I worried that people would consider it noise and it would get ignored...

Well,

looks like APUG missed out on this toy (unless Berryherd is someone here?).

Ah well, it was fun dreaming.

Yes, that's disappointing. I can't understand why folks would object to driving the few hundred miles to Rio Rancho everytime they wanted to make a print.

I should have thought of that...

Vet's last name is Berry, so I'm hoping he's the one that won the bid. It got a little too rich for me at the end.

Yes, an APUG'ER from Seattle won. John Berry in fact. He and I are going to move the enlarger to his house to set it up. We've seen it in person already. It is very nice indeed

The win on the enlarger made up for the incredible superbowl. I swear the game is rigged. I'll go on record as claiming that the refs were either paid off or the NFL office instructed them to give the game to the Steelers.

I've never in my life (45 years and 40 super bowls) seen such a blatant example of crooked officiating. I feel for the Steelers fans who may celebrate their team's victory but know in their hearts that their team did not earn the win.

for the small amount of the game I watched, there did seem to be quite a few questionable calls.

Thanks to all. Yes it was a SWEET deal. I drove down and previewed it.I don't get to pick it up till the 18th, as he will be on vacation. Celebrating his 25th wedding aniv, good for them. Not many make it that far. No problem for me. It is kinda like having to wait till new years to open your christmas presents though, but I'll get by.Norm is a great guy and turned down an offer of $500 from another guy to yank it from the auction. Besides the garage, with 16' ceiling will be the user space as this thing tops out at 9'6", and it's cold in there now. I don't know what I'll do with the lenses, I'll be using my 300 companon. They are in better shape than he described. I'll check with the local APUGERS here and see if there is any interest, if not I might list them in the classifiedes. If you looked at my earlier post, you would realise that there just wern't no other dogs in this hunt.

Way to go !

I used one of these enelargers for a long time, and only gave up the quest when I went 'horizontal' to fit in the basement.

The Salzman runs like a Rolex, and is the finest piece of darkroom gear ever made in the US. You will have a great time with it: enjoy every bit !

I don't know about that, however, I would advise the Seahawks to make sure that Jerramy Stevens bring his hands next time. "Air Bud: Golden Retriever" could have made those catches. (Don't ask me how I know about that movie!)

Thanks' DF. Just playing with it when I previewed it was almost orgasmic. The controls were smooth, it reminded me of running a lathe. Who cares about the superbowel. ( I know how it's spelled ) I won the enlargerbowl. No sense entering the lottery, I already used up all my luck.

So, let's see, after accounting for the lenses and the antinewton glass carrier...seems like you got the enlarger thrown in for free!

Glad to see that an APUGer got it. I wish an APUGer in the SF Bay area had been crazy enough to bring this back here!

I don't wish to turn this into a super bowl argument but even if Jeremey Stevens makes those catches then the Seahawks win the game. Both Stevens and the officials took points away from the Seahawks.

We still need to deal with the terrible calls. It is about time the NFL develops a competency test for their officials. That bunch would have failed it.

Guys: either stick to the thread or prepare to get hammered over Seattle's melt down.

Don't blame the zebras.

I mean, what a groovy enlarger.

The whole rolleyes thing is a bit much. It implies that my concerns are not valid. That I'm just being mad about my team loosing. Find me one person who is not a diehard Steelers fan who isn't disgusted about the calls.

So let's just ignore the melt down in the officals corps. It's not shameful that highly paid referees can't call a game as important as the Super Bowl. No, of course not. Just because the bad calls materially affected the outcome. Heck, no shame there. Just a few mistakes that happend to ALL be in favor of the Steelers.

But of course Seattle's mistakes cost them points. Nobody denies that. I don't believe they 'melted down'... or maybe you were watching a different game.

In the game I watched, Seattle outplayed Pittsburg. The Seahawks had more yardage on offense, fewer turn overs and more possession time. All of this despite the fact that they weren't getting a fair game. The Steelers won on 2 Seattle mistakes. The Steelers made quite a few mistakes, 1 of which cost them a touchdown (called back by the stripes), another set up a first and goal at the 1 (called back by the stripes). Shall I go on?

What game did you see?
