6x9 camera with Pre-Tessar lens?

Another suggestion might be a Mamiya RB67, which can use a 150mm soft focus lens controlled by disks, something like the classic Imagon. Very controllable softness, and you can also use a 6x8 back, although only vertically.

I did look at that combination, and it seems like an excellent solution, although that would be more kit than I would want to carry.

But apparently, there is also a 145mm Soft Focus lens for the Mamiya 645, which would be a more acceptable size and weight for me.

Sadly, the price of that camera and lens would add up to more than I would be comfortable spending for what is probably only a whim or passing fancy for me.
