I want to print 6x8 negatives in my Sauders 4x5 enlarger but can't find a carrier that will work, or even one for 6x9. I have a 4x5 glass carrier that I could mask. Would that be best? If so, what kind of masking material would you suggest?

You can cut a mask from Rublylith. That's what i do on my Durst 138 5x7"
On my Beseler 4x5, i had a 6x7 carrier enlarged for 6x8

hobby stores sell opaque 1/16" solid plastic sheets in black. that can be easily cut with an exactor knife or a box knife. I got mine at Joan Fabrics of all places.

Try www.bitbybitphoto.com
They make custom neg carriers and a whole lot of camera & darkroom accessories.
No affiliation, but a satisfied customer.

I'm a big fan of these folk's little postcard easels. Not sure about negative carriers. I had SK Grimes modify a carrier for 6x17 negatives, it wasn't cheap but it's perfect.

Pretty much any material that's opaque to the wavelengths you'll expose with will work.
This can really be as simple as taking a scrap piece of cardstock and a few bits of tape from a desk drawer.

On my Saunders I typically use masks with my glass carrier even though I have other carriers. Glass is better. I've made masks out of thin aluminum and rubylith. For the smallest Minox I also use rubylith tape over a mask since it is impossible to cut a hole that small. If I ever get a 3d printer I'll just print the masks. If I ever get a mill I'd just redesign the carrier.
