6 month BESSA 667W repair

At least you can still get them repaired... I sent this in to the good people at Photovillage to send to Cosina in order to fix a problem with the Aperture. In A mode, turning the aperture towards wide open caused the shutter speed indicator in the viewfinder to freak out. New batteries did not help. Finally after several months I was told they needed to make a new part in order to fix it. A little more than 2 months after that I received the camera back. No paper work, no explanation. At least they didn't charge me anything.

Looking forward to putting the first roll through the camera.

If you had another good MF camera(s) at hand, I think a free repair that includes making a new part is worth the six-month wait!

I waited possibly a little longer to get my common garden variety Bronica fixed and still got charged the full amount.....

I don't know what was done, there was no paperwork. But that's okay, it looks like it works now and when I opened the camera there was a piece of white paper over the film pressure plate so I know someone was in there :-D

What could be the idea behind putting that paper there? To indicate someone had a look at it?

Never heard of such before. But I saw inscriptions and stickers.

I understand that Stephen Gandy (Camera Quest) is the official distributor for Cosina/Voigtlander in the United States. But they are sold by a number of retailers.

Stephen won't give you the time of day unless you bought it from him. I sent mine to the east coast distributor, photo village. They were great to work with but are basically at the mercy of Cosina. Cosina only sends out repairs and new stuff on a quarterly basis so you're looking at a minimum of 3 months. Photo Village also told me that the camera has been discontinued which isn't surprising. If you check B&H and Adorama it's on back order, assume that will change to no longer available.

It's really a fantistic camera, I also love my GF670.
