5x7 drum processing besides Jobo Expert 3006?

I've heard of people using Jobo tubes to process larger sheet film and I wondered if it's possible to do the same with 5x7. I know you can do it with the Expert drum but I'm a cheapskate

Unicolor PAPER drums will work for 2 5x7 sheets at a time.

I use a 'Color by Beseler' paper drum for 11x14 paper and do 4 sheets of 5x7 at a time.

I use the 2830. A lot less money then an expert. A lot more common on the used market.

Alan, I'm a bigger cheapskate I'll guarantee it. But if your time is worth anything....bite the bullet and get the JOBO 3010 expert. You can do 10 4X5's and 5 5X7's at the same time, and they come out perfect every time. I used to stand in the dark and develop my sheets 1 at a time in trays. Mercy. I'll never go there again! Time to play is just too hard to come by to waste it fiddling with leaky drums with 1 sheet inside.

I think there is a great deal of truth to what Jim says here.......But, I'm so dang cheap I keep using my Beseler 8x10 drums to process 2 5x7 at a time. If I can ever find a good deal on a 3010 (which at this point may not happen with the current state of Jobo USA) Will have to wait and see, but to answer your question......listen to Jim.

Update

I recently sold some stuff at auction and with the extra money I took Jim's advice and got an expert drum. My lens and shutter should be here soon from the CLA and I will have several 5x7 negatives ready to process.

Another option would be to keep an eye out for the larger sized Combi-PlanT tank. The common (and still available new) size one will do up to 4x5, but there was a larger one made at one time that would go up to 5x7, and if you can find one of those, you'll be able to develop 6 sheets at a time, and you'll also be able to do stand and semi-stand development with it!
