My recent purchase of a 3D printer makes me think a sticky for posting analog projects, photos, settings and observations is in order for Photrio, even if we make only lens caps or rugged polymer camera cases.

I don’t think I’ll post a project before Christmas, but some 120 and 35mm multi roll canisters, lens caps, protective plastic cases for brass Luzid step-up rings, lens hoods, etc, but I sure would like to see others projects, plans, working methods.

How do you handle bayonet mounts and screw mounts for lens hood, for example.

What have you made?

The 3D printer I have bought is the Bambu lab A1 four strand unit which I will pair with an older Lenovo laptop, running Windows 10.

I'll raise this to the attention of the other moderators.

For now, I propose we go with the approach we've always used so far: if a thread warrants attention by attracting relevant content, a good deal of participants and it's of a generic, long-term nature, we consider making it a sticky. So feel free to add your projects to this thread.

Concerning 3D printed parts specifically, this might indeed work as a sticky thread as long as the scope of the thread is adding new projects to the list without much need for discussion. More complex project will warrant discussion, in which case they are better off with threads of their own.

3D printing has (at least) as much materials and methods discussion as photography, and most of that is not relevant to Photrio.

An announcement thread, linking to a specific item thread or project information elsewhere might work, though I think it will tend to drift down into the weeds of detail pretty easily. I do design and make my own parts, usually for some very niche applications, so I have some interest in the topic.
