With so many of us using old kit, cameras, flashs, darkroom and studio kit. the natural need to be able to keep out stuff operating and even making small tools, like filter wrenches, means employing more and more often, the raw finance power of deep pockets to hire out repairs or parts or, the builders mindset and tool box together with the willingness to try their hand at doing things themselves.
No one is making this stuff new and we are foolish to believe things will just work out over the next 50 years.
One project that would be interesting to more than me alone, is printing the focus ring/lever for Minolta Autocords or sourcing filaments of high enough strength and working qualities to replace the pot metal being used now and the past.
With other builders tools being more affordable and easier to operate, such as 3D scanners, laser cutters, miniature mills and laiths with CAD programming you can use with a phone, pad or laptop, on line or otherwise, it's better to know what can be done and how to do it yourself, if possible.
