I often wonder if listings such as this are not set up for some illicit purpose, for example, as a part of some money laundering scheme.

OR....

The seller may have had a bit too much to drink when listing, and meant to sell the whole lot, as opposed to a single roll. I note that that's what the same seller is doing in this listing which is a lot more reasonably priced:

I have 25 rolls of the stuff, maybe I should put them on ebay rather than save them for future use...nah.

These ads are setup for people who buy, by, looking at pictures. Ebay should be policing this sad. It's like selling old people $1000 of life insurance for $10 a month. Ass#*#es

Seller has 663 positive reviews, with no negatives. Doubtful it is as you say.

Looks like a bargain compared to the current price of colour film...from ebay uk

There has to be a reason for this such as you suggest but unless he is selling 100s of goods on e-bay, money laundering seems unlikely. It may be just the seller being opportunist. He is tempted to see if there really is some mug out there willing to pay his asking price but I'd have thought that anyone interested in Acros would be the sort of person who has "roamed the marketplace" and knows what a reasonable price should be

It's a bit of a "head scratcher" for me

Can I trade for some mid 70's reticulated Tri-X?

No need For mid 70s reticulated Tri_X just ask for $60 per roll but bear in mind that I may have underestimated its value given its now 50 years old and reticulated

I did buy a 10 roll brick (in cellophane) of Agfapan APX100 120 (exp 2004) end of last year for $100. Shot 1 roll at ISO 80 so far and it is still good (rest in the freezer). Probably a little pricey and risky, but I wanted to shoot some Agfa.

It makes a bit of sense from a search point of view. People search low to high, high to low, distance etc, etc. Who knows.

I bought a couple of rolls of Verichrome VP 620, of Ebay $16 total, expr date 1973. I am actually after the nice metal spools, it had a significant amount of base fog but the negatives are printable. I developed it with a roll of TMY2, normal time. Never ceases to amaze.

That's a pretty good deal, postage included too. Those 36-exp 3packs with magenta are collector items. On Antiques Roadshow they appraised for big bucks on that pawn shop tv show too. The silly boy, Chumpy thought it was worthless but infront of the angry, annoyed doubting bald shopkeeper the old guy with the big beard and hat set him straight. He told them both that a 3pack just like was worth about 15,000USD. The guy selling these must have robbed a refrigerated vault. Definitely will need to use Escrow for this transaction.

APX100 is gorgeous film. I shot 6x6 120 and it was "silvery" and gosh it was beautiful. At the time I ran it in D76. I printed them on Ektalure paper

It was a typo. The ad has been updated. The price is for all 6 rolls, not just one.

Nah, we shamed him....

I reached out to the seller and asked if the price was for all of the rolls in the picture or just one, and he apologized for the confusion and updated the listing. I don’t think he’s trying to rip anybody off.

I did also and got the same response.

Nothing points to this being intentional, but of course that's not going to appease the crowds.

I suppose it started a healthy and funny thread. Yeah I think seller didnt mean anything bad from the typo. Been there, done that. Have a great weekend guys.
